By the numbers:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>1200 Players<\/strong> took part in Tennis Victoria Country Week 2022, aged between 15 and 83.<\/p>\n<p><strong>189 Teams<\/strong> competed &#8211; <strong>107 female<\/strong> teams, <strong>82 male<\/strong> teams.<\/p>\n<p>There were <strong>23 grades<\/strong> contested over the week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2,304 Dunlop Australian Open tennis<\/strong> <strong>balls<\/strong> were used.<\/p>\n<p><strong>92 pristine grass courts<\/strong> were curated and prepared by Country Week Legend Dan Gardner. This included <strong>47 <\/strong>permanent courts and <strong>45<\/strong> courts prepared on the soccer and croquet fields.<\/p>\n<p><strong>50 tennis nets<\/strong> were produced. The temporary court nets are then available for purchase by participating teams to take home to their clubs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>60 racquets <\/strong>were restrung by the team at Tennis Lab.<\/p>\n<p><strong>576 Salad Rolls <\/strong>were devoured at lunchtime throughout the week.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Over 1000 bottles<\/strong> of water kept players hydrated.<\/p>\n<p><strong>600 people attended<\/strong> Swan Hill Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club\u2019s Welcome Night on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p><strong>17 local stalls<\/strong> sold their wares at the Farmer\u2019s Market on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>6 participants <\/strong>were named Country Week Legends. Congratulations to <strong>Karyn Fraser (Mansfield), Heather Camm (Euroa), Kelvin Noonan (Maryborough), Tracey Beaston (Buninyong), Ange Willett (Enfield), Daniel Gardner (Swan Hill)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>There was <strong>1 heat delay<\/strong> across the week giving the players some welcome relief from the heat.<\/p>\n<p>Over <strong>200 hardworking volunteers<\/strong> from the Swan Hill Lawn Tennis Club, working together with Tennis Victoria, contributed to the wonderful event presentation that the club displayed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Swan Hill teams had the shortest drive to get to Country Week. Others had a bigger trip with players travelling from as far as <strong>Alice Springs,<\/strong> <strong>Merimbula and Brisbane.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We hosted <strong>3 community support organisations<\/strong>.
