{"id":27012,"date":"2021-11-27T11:51:00","date_gmt":"2021-11-27T00:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=27012"},"modified":"2021-11-27T11:51:45","modified_gmt":"2021-11-27T00:51:45","slug":"competition-heats-up-in-round-4-of-premier-league","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2021\/11\/27\/competition-heats-up-in-round-4-of-premier-league","title":{"rendered":"Competition heats up in Round 4 of Premier League"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Crowds enjoyed an entertaining night of tennis at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club on Friday for the fourth round of 2021 Premier League.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s side of the draw, Royal South Yarra and MCC Glen Iris Valley put on an exhibition claiming all three of their rubbers against Kooyong and Beaumaris.<\/p>\n<p>Storm Sanders led Royal South Yarra with a straight set win over Sally Peers, Pearl Jansz defeated Kooyong\u2019s Zoe Llewellyn 6-4, 6-4, while Zoe Perez and Tayla Stenta took care of business in the doubles with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Sophie Vickers and Ksenija Varesenovic.<\/p>\n<p>In Round 4\u2019s other matchup, MCC Glen Iris Valley\u2019s Nives Baric and Beaumaris\u2019 Elicia Kim played out the women\u2019s match of the round with a 6-3, 3-6, 8-10 epic that went Baric\u2019s way.<\/p>\n<p>Zali Morris won her singles rubber convincingly as the team\u2019s number one against Georgiana Rurig, while Jaimee Fourlis and Zoe Arthur were triumphant over Paris Baliga and Jennifer McDonald with a 6-2, 6-0 win.<\/p>\n<p>In the men\u2019s division, Royal South Yarra, Beaumaris and MCC Glen Iris Valley all claimed 2-1 victories over Kooyong, Bundoora RMIT and Glenburn.<\/p>\n<p>Royal South Yarra\u2019s Jason Kubler took his side to a 1-0 lead after defeating Omar Jasika in straight sets, while Kooyong\u2019s doubles duo Andrew Whittington and Greg Jones levelled the score with a 7-6, 4-6, 10-4 win over Jarryd Maher and Cihan Akay.<\/p>\n<p>Battling well into the night, Luke Saville claimed the decider in a 7-6, 4-6, 5-10 match for the ages against Jacob Grills.<\/p>\n<p>In Round 4\u2019s other matchups, Beaumaris\u2019 James Hartson and Luke Sorensen produced dominant performances in their singles rubbers with straight-set victories over Themi Sitzoukis and Flynn Caruana, while Bundoora RMIT\u2019s Will Ma and Brandon Bryant claimed the doubles 6-3, 6-3 against Jack Broadbent and Petar Jovic.<\/p>\n<p>On the neighbouring court, MCC Glen Iris Valley\u2019s Aaron Addison led his team with a straight set win over Glenburn\u2019s Sam Dowler.
