{"id":26985,"date":"2021-11-25T07:29:56","date_gmt":"2021-11-24T20:29:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=26985"},"modified":"2021-11-25T07:29:56","modified_gmt":"2021-11-24T20:29:56","slug":"make-tennis-balls-even-greener-with-game-on-recycling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2021\/11\/25\/make-tennis-balls-even-greener-with-game-on-recycling","title":{"rendered":"Make tennis balls even greener with Game On Recycling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Make tennis balls even greener by joining Game On Recycling in their mission to recycle sports equipment across Australia.<\/p>\n<p>An estimated 10 million tennis balls are used each year to play the game we love, but unfortunately end up in landfill when they\u2019re no longer needed.<\/p>\n<p>To combat this environmental issue, #scoreapointforplanetearth by recycling tennis balls through Game On Recycling.<\/p>\n<p>Game On Recycling, a partnership between Australia New Zealand Recycling Platform (ANZRP) and Wilson Sporting Goods Co, is a new sports equipment recycling program that aims to collect and recycle tennis balls across Australia.<\/p>\n<p>All items collected as part of the program will be sent to a processing facility in West Melbourne and sorted into two categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tennis balls that can be reused and put back into circulation, thereby extending the life of the product; or<\/li>\n<li>Tennis balls that have well and truly come to the end of their life and need to be recycled<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>They\u2019re currently searching for new clubs that share a passion for sustainability to be added to the program, and hope to add roughly 25 Victorian clubs from both rural and metropolitan areas by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p>Being a collection partner is 100% free, so if you\u2019re interested, please click <a href=\"https:\/\/gameonrecycling.com.au\/pages\/become-a-partner\">here<\/a>.
