{"id":26915,"date":"2021-11-19T09:01:08","date_gmt":"2021-11-18T22:01:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=26915"},"modified":"2021-11-19T09:01:08","modified_gmt":"2021-11-18T22:01:08","slug":"youngsters-shine-at-melbourne-wheelchair-classic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2021\/11\/19\/youngsters-shine-at-melbourne-wheelchair-classic","title":{"rendered":"Youngsters Shine at Melbourne Wheelchair Classic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Riley Dumsday and Saalim Naser have taken top honours in men&#8217;s doubles, while Sally Schwartz proved the best of the women at last weekend\u2019s Melbourne Wheelchair Classic, held at the National Tennis Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Fellow Victorian Martyn Dunn overcame intense opposition in the Men\u2019s Wheelchair Singles competition. After defeating Saalim Naser 7-5, 4-6, 10-7 in the semi-finals, he then faced his Olympic doubles partner Ben Weekes in the grand final match.<\/p>\n<p>Weekes\u2019 experience was on show as he was virtually untroubled heading into the grand final, having lost only two games in both his previous matches. He proved too good for Dunn on this occasion, coming away with a straight sets victory to claim the silverware.<\/p>\n<p>Despite being eliminated in the Men\u2019s Singles semi-finals, Riley Dumsday and Saalim Naser went into the Men\u2019s Doubles tournament determined to make an impact.
