{"id":26798,"date":"2021-10-29T15:43:24","date_gmt":"2021-10-29T04:43:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=26798"},"modified":"2021-10-29T15:43:24","modified_gmt":"2021-10-29T04:43:24","slug":"tennis-shines-at-disability-sport-and-recreation-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2021\/10\/29\/tennis-shines-at-disability-sport-and-recreation-awards","title":{"rendered":"Tennis shines at Disability Sport and Recreation Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The finalists for the Disability Sport and Recreation Awards for 2021 have been announced, and we have seen incredible representation and acknowledgement of tennis in Victoria.<\/p>\n<p>The annual Victorian Disability Sport and Recreation Awards recognise the accomplishments of people with disability;\u00a0those who support them and the inclusive sport and recreation sector across the state.<\/p>\n<p>Tennis finalists include\u00a0wheelchair tennis player\u00a0Sally Schwartz as finalist for the Marg Angel Junior Sportsperson of the Year.\u00a0Sally was also a finalist for Most Outstanding Athlete with a Disability at the 2021 Victorian Tennis Awards alongside Olivia Sayers, Riley Dumsday and Ryder Smith.<\/p>\n<p>Fellow wheelchair tennis player Martyn Dunn has been named as a finalist for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysportlive.tv\/\">My Sport Live<\/a> Sportsperson of the Year after his Paralympic debut in Tokyo where he played in both the singles and doubles competition.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-standard-landscape wp-image-26799 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/files\/2021\/10\/COACH-Vicky-Lee-photo-700x450.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/files\/2021\/10\/COACH-Vicky-Lee-photo-700x450.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/files\/2021\/10\/COACH-Vicky-Lee-photo-360x230.jpg 360w, https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/files\/2021\/10\/COACH-Vicky-Lee-photo-200x128.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/>Vicky Lee of Slamin Tennis is a finalist for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecarbineclub.org\/\">Carbine Club<\/a>\u00a0Coach of the Year award.
