{"id":26758,"date":"2021-10-20T09:24:09","date_gmt":"2021-10-19T22:24:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=26758"},"modified":"2021-10-21T14:51:02","modified_gmt":"2021-10-21T03:51:02","slug":"15-award-winners-recognised-at-the-2021-victorian-tennis-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2021\/10\/20\/15-award-winners-recognised-at-the-2021-victorian-tennis-awards","title":{"rendered":"15 Award Winners recognised at the 2021 Victorian Tennis Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>2021 Victorian Tennis Awards<\/strong> winners were announced on Tuesday Night with <strong>15 award recipients<\/strong> and fellow finalists recognised in front of the Victorian tennis community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Victorian Tennis Awards, run by <strong>Tennis Victoria<\/strong>, align with Australian Tennis Awards and winners are now eligible to be nominated for the <strong>2021 Newcombe Medal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tennis Victoria <em>Acting CEO Adam Crameri<\/em><\/strong> was thrilled with recognising the award winners and finalists in front of the Victorian tennis community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCongratulations to all finalists and to the winners of the 2021 Victorian Tennis Awards. We had incredible nominations put forth by the Victorian tennis community and being able to recognise the finalists and winners tonight was a privilege.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA special congratulations to the Victorian Spirit of Tennis Winner Maurice Gleeson OAM for your drive to increase the profile of Blind Tennis across Victoria, Australia and Internationally, and for what you do for tennis in Victoria.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the athlete categories, the <strong>Junior Athlete of the Year Awards<\/strong> were won by <strong>Roisin Gilheany<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Cooper White<\/strong>\u00a0with <strong>Glenn Busby <\/strong>winning the <strong>30+ Tennis Senior Award<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Most Outstanding Athlete with a Disability<\/strong> award welcomed joint winners this year with <strong>Olivia Sayers<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>Riley Dumsday <\/strong>winning the trophies.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The volunteer achievement award was won by <strong>Liz Tektonopoulos <\/strong>and Excellence in Officiating award went to <strong>Eva Bettiol.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the Club Awards, the winner of the <strong>Most Outstanding Club or Centre<\/strong> was the <strong>Fawkner Park Tennis Centre<\/strong>\u00a0and the <strong>Most Outstanding Tournament <\/strong>was the<strong> 2020 Warrnambool Lawn Open<\/strong> held at the <strong>Warrnambool Lawn Tennis Club<\/strong>.
