{"id":25744,"date":"2021-05-31T15:06:27","date_gmt":"2021-05-31T05:06:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=25744"},"modified":"2021-05-31T15:06:27","modified_gmt":"2021-05-31T05:06:27","slug":"backing-victorian-business-and-their-workers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2021\/05\/31\/backing-victorian-business-and-their-workers","title":{"rendered":"Backing Victorian Business and their Workers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">The Victorian Government are backing businesses most affected by the seven-day circuit breaker action, including operators in the hospitality, retail, events and creative industries with further targeted support.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Announced yesterday, a $250.7 million Circuit Breaker Business Support Package will help up to 90,000 Victorian businesses that have been affected by the restrictions that will run until 11:59pm on Thursday, 3 June.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">The package features three\u00a0initiatives for small to medium-sized businesses and sole traders.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">The\u00a0$190.01 million\u00a0second round of the <em><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Business Costs Assistance Program<\/span><\/em> will offer grants of\u00a0$2,500\u00a0for eligible businesses directly affected by the circuit-breaker industry restrictions,\u00a0including restaurants and cafes, event suppliers, accommodation providers and non-essential retailers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">A\u00a0$40.7 million\u00a0new round of the <em><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund<\/span><\/em> will provide businesses holding an eligible liquor licence\u00a0and food certificate\u00a0with a\u00a0$3,500\u00a0grant per premises.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">An allocation of $20 million\u00a0will\u00a0be dedicated to\u00a0supporting\u00a0operators in the events industry who have incurred losses due to\u00a0the\u00a0circuit-breaker\u00a0restrictions, with more details to be provided shortly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 9.0pt;font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Businesses can register their interest in the <em><span style=\"font-family: 'Arial',sans-serif\">Business Costs Assistance Program<\/span><\/em> at <a href=\"https:\/\/clicktime.symantec.com\/3RprexdNFQo1yr5XgU9iRvs7Vc?u=http%3A%2F%2Femail.campaign-sdp.premier.vic.gov.au%2Fc%2FeJxNjUsOgyAUAE8jOwk8ROmChanpPZ7wVBJBA36uX7trMrtJZrz1WnmULFgQIIVWQkjdaMMlF13Xq96owQzqLaGrGuEw7hjmVBe_8z1TDJT5FRyft4vjyRZLBIjUeJAvcC3psTXOQYuIappegGy1y3Hsleor-Dzc983Hs4REpfyVHsOyLTm4BbMvW3rmB6UUCndb_K0OG8kHrDOthIVqUEaIL9a1QMo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">business.vic.gov.au<\/a>, so they can be notified when applications open this week.
