Having worked with Tennis Victoria\nfor over a decade I have been fortunate to develop great relationships with a\nwide variety of stakeholders across the industry. The Tennis Victoria Board and\nStaff are committed to working with and supporting our stakeholders on\nproviding more playing opportunities that give players great long-lasting\nexperiences. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Being part\nof a Tennis Community, my daughter and I playing weekly, working with a\ndedicated team of staff and passionate stakeholders, I thoroughly enjoy what\nthis sport provides. I look forward to what we can achieve for the next 12\nmonths together as we continue on the momentum from a successful start to 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I hope you\nall were able to tune in to the Tennis and see our many areas of Victoria\nfeatured in the Australian Open lead in tournaments in early February. From Ash\nBarty winning the Yarra Valley Classic, through to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/226514340742498\/videos\/759071978066699\/?__so__=channel_tab&amp;__rv__=all_videos_card\">Grigor\nDimitrov who had a call with Yarrawonga Lawn Tennis Club<\/a> &#8211; it was great to\nsee Victorian Clubs represented on an international stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nAustralian Open Trophies (Daphne &amp; Norm) also went on a journey throughout\nVictoria \u2013 you\u2019ll see some familiar Victorian places throughout the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/226514340742498\/videos\/4052931994824736\/?__so__=channel_tab&amp;__rv__=all_videos_card\">AO\non the Road series<\/a> which aired last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations\nto our colleagues at Tennis Australia who in delivering the 2021 Australian\nOpen showed the world that a major Grand Slam Tournament is possible during a\npandemic. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Congratulations\nalso to Victorian Dylan Alcott who made it seven AO championships in a row!\nTogether with fellow Victorian Heath Davidson, Dylan also won the Quad\nWheelchair Doubles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While we\nwere disappointed that the Statewide 5 day lockdown lead to the cancellation of\nour very own Country Week, we are pleased to have announced that the much loved\nevent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2021\/03\/02\/2022-tennis-victoria-country-week-announcement\">will\nreturn to Swan Hill in 2022.<\/a> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our Tennis\nVictoria team also went to visit the bushfire affected communities of Cudgewa\nand Corryong last weekend hosting events with local schools and community groups.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At a\ncommunity level tennis continues to be a popular sport for people to pick up a\nracquet and have a hit. We have 172 clubs across Victoria who have gone live\nwith the court booking module as part of our ClubSpark system. The month of\nJanuary we saw a total of 31,240 participants book a court to play.
