East Ringwood Tennis Club jumped on to the new ClubSpark system in the middle of 2020 and have been ‘loving life’ ever since! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Club had many volunteers, including President Joan\nCarter who completed the daily administration for the club. But\nwhen Jacob Mutton, the Club Coach at East Ringwood suggested\nthat the Club try the new system and give it a go after implementing at\nParkwood Tennis Club, Carter was all for it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI was busy doing other things, but then Jake\nsuggested it, and I thought, we can only say we don\u2019t want it anymore, but\nwe were really happy\u201d said Carter.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Carter was the first person at the club to personally benefit\nfrom ClubSpark, noting the amount of administration that had been lifted by\nsimply switching over to the new system. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA good 50% of my administration load has\nbeen taken off my shoulders, I was using an excel spreadsheet and now everything\nis automatically updated. It\u2019s also helping us when we go\nthrough a financial year, I don\u2019t have to go through all the invoices because people\nwill get one automatically through ClubSpark\u201d explained Carter.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThere\u2019s also a lot less personal contact needed,\nso when you have a small committee like ours, you don\u2019t have to ask anyone to\ncome down and open up the courts, as it\u2019s all done for you.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe membership part is so easy too, you can merge\nprofiles, delete them or archive them it\u2019s all nice and easy, it\u2019s got the\nmembership, the website, the contacts all in one, that\u2019s handy as well\u201d Mutton\nadded. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The system has supported off-court activities\nat the club, but East Ringwood Tennis Club has also benefited\non-court as well, having boosted participation just by onboarding to ClubSpark. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cPeople are willing to come down, have their hit, and\nsometimes we have three courts for social hitting and we never used to have that.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a routine and a system that social\nplayers have adapted to, but this has also filtered through to\nthe club\u2019s general membership.

\n\u201cSometimes members ring\nme up and say, can I go and have a hit, and I say yes definitely, go\nto book a court and go on the website, it\u2019ll do it all for you\u201d Carter\nexplains. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a routine that people will need to get used to,\nbut it makes things easy, you get a confirmation email with a gate key code and have access to\nthe court and have a wonderful time.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAnd it caters for everyone too, there\u2019s some people\nthat want to come and have a hit and then go straight home, then there\u2019s others\nthat see it as a more social time.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although there are 196 Tennis\nClubs around Victoria that have made the transition to ClubSpark, there\nare some yet to make the journey across – we asked Joan & Jake if\nthey had any advice to Clubs looking to get onboard in the future?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joan:<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cDo it!\u00a0It\u2019s mint!\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0using it\u00a0and\u00a0reaping the benefits\u00a0as\u00a0an\u00a0administrator, so I\u2019m going to be singing\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0praises.\u201d\u00a0

Having already implemented the system at Parkwood Tennis Club, Mutton also mentioned to start small with the Book a court system as clubs begin to implement it into their communities: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jake:<\/strong> \u201cEven if you\u2019re not comfortable with doing all\nthe courts (through Book a court), just start with one entry point. The\nother thing is to point people to your best courts, don\u2019t force people to\nhave a court that\u2019s not your best, you want them to have a good\nexperience when they come.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n
