The Associations Junior League (AJL) has hit the business end of competition this weekend, with multiple Grand Finals taking place around the Metro\/Geelong area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
11 Grand Finals will take place on Sunday, in age group competitions from Mixed Under 10s, through to Mixed Under 18s \u2013 a division that has re-started in 2020 after a five-year hiatus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was a welcomed return to Junior Competition for Tennis players, hitting for the first time competitively as a team, since the pandemic lockdown in Tennis Victoria’s peak association representation competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The competition will also involve juniors who played in the most recent Junior UTR State Performance Championships in Bendigo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Reaching the finals has been quite common for association teams from the Eastern Region, Bayside-Moorabbin Region and Barwon Region, who have returned to the court with ease after the lockdown, having multiple teams involved this Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tennis Victoria\u2019s Pathways Coordinator Tyler Krumholz has been impressed at the players willingness to return to the court, and the standard from AJL players after the lockdown period: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The finals this weekend will\ninvolve every single team in the competition, and we wish our teams all the\nbest as they wrap up their 2020 AJL season.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The AJL has\nrun for six weeks since November 15 and involves four singles rubbers (best of\ntwo sets) and two doubles rubbers (8 game set) in each home and away match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
