UTR Series coming to regional Victoria"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>Victoria UTR Serie<\/strong>s, a <strong>new and exciting opportunity for competitive match play<\/strong> is coming to regional Victoria, beginning the <strong>first weekend of September school holidays<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The Series will utilise the <strong>Universal Tennis Rating (UTR)<\/strong>, a rating system that allows <strong>skill level based competitio<\/strong>n and <strong>encourages fair play<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>With Australian Ranking Tournaments on hold as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, <strong>players in regional areas are keen to return to the courts to compete<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Players will go head to head in a round robin draw<\/strong>, using the UTR \u2018Fast4\u2019 scoring format where players will adhere to playing:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>First to 4 games<\/li>\n<li>Play lets<\/li>\n<li>No ad scoring<\/li>\n<li>Tiebreaker at 3 games all<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Each venue will strictly follow Victorian Government and Tennis Victoria Community Tennis Guidelines<\/strong>, where <strong>physical distancing, stringent hygiene and safety precautions<\/strong> will be in place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited to be launching the Victoria UTR Series, and recommencing competitive play for junior athletes in regional Victoria,\u201d <strong>Tennis Victoria Tournament and Events Coordinator, Shelly Hart <\/strong>said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll tennis players, from social players to professionals, can use their Universal Tennis Rating to measure their competitive ability.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPlenty of clubs were eager to get on board and run these events after a challenging few months with restrictions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are looking forward to bringing the Victoria
