{"id":18597,"date":"2018-03-27T11:06:33","date_gmt":"2018-03-27T00:06:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=18597"},"modified":"2018-03-27T11:06:33","modified_gmt":"2018-03-27T00:06:33","slug":"tennis-coach-delivers-rewarding-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2018\/03\/27\/tennis-coach-delivers-rewarding-program","title":{"rendered":"Tennis coach delivers rewarding program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During a nine-week coaching program at The Northern School for Autism, Yvonne Fantin from Topseed Tennis introduced students to tennis.<\/p>\n<p>Approximately 60 children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder were able to gain access to the sport thanks to the modified sessions delivered by Fantin.<\/p>\n<p>The program saw the delivery of ANZ Tennis Hot Shots on a weekly basis, with participants offered a pathway into Hot Shots Match Play and club competition at West Lalor Tennis Club.<\/p>\n<p>Yvonne Fantin was thrilled to be involved in the program and seeing the positive impact it had on the students.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur program at the Northern School for Autism is a highly structured program, specifically designed to meet the needs of children with autism,\u201d Fantin said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe program has been one of the most challenging, yet rewarding experiences I\u2019ve had as a coach. It\u2019s fantastic to see the impact that our program is having.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlong with the physical benefits, our tennis program is also improving the social skills and boosting the self-esteem of children with autism.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese children are also offered a pathway beyond tennis at school.
