The Inter-regional Country Championships for 2018 has provided some memorable moments as Wodonga Tennis Centre hosted more than 250 players from nine regions across Victoria.<\/p>\n
The Inter-regional Country Championships\u2019 unique team format sees players in 12\/u to 18\/u age groups, as well as 25\/u, Open and 35+ all competing for points towards their region. The team which finishes with the most points claims the title.<\/p>\n
With players enjoying some warm weather during this Summer of Tennis, many families enjoyed their time at this year\u2019s event, including the Lee family.<\/p>\n
Belinda Lee and her children Ryan and Jess were representing the Barwon region and thrilled to experience such a close comradery with the team.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe just love being part of our region and everybody mixes, it\u2019s a great team atmosphere,\u201d Belinda Lee said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a great social catch up as well all the matches are played in very good spirits.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Lee story is not an unique one with a number of families also sharing memories of their tennis moments at Inter-regional Country Championships weekends.<\/p>\n
Venturing all around Victoria to compete in many Inter-regional Country Championships; Grant, Ryan and Tiahna Leader have enjoyed the time together.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s good catching up with others from other regions,\u201d Ryan Leader said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m staying in a house with a few other boys from other regions so it\u2019s pretty good. Got to go to bed early!\u201d<\/p>\n
The 62nd Inter-regional Country Championships was a resounding success. Goulburn (263) claimed back-to-back titles with their 21-point victory ahead of Barwon (242).<\/p>\n
