{"id":17492,"date":"2017-07-03T10:55:55","date_gmt":"2017-07-03T00:55:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=17492"},"modified":"2017-11-23T21:19:15","modified_gmt":"2017-11-23T10:19:15","slug":"safeguarding-children-guidelines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2017\/07\/03\/safeguarding-children-guidelines","title":{"rendered":"Safeguarding Children Guidelines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tennis Victoria and Tennis Australia have a zero tolerance approach to any form of child-abuse and are committed to ensuring the sport of tennis provides a safe and friendly environment for children and young people.<\/p>\n<p>Following a national review conducted by the Australian Childhood Foundation, resources have been made available <a href=\"http:\/\/tennis.com.au\/childsafe\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>These resources will assist clubs, centres and associations to meet their legal obligations under Victorian Legislation, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamesetmatch.net.au\/site\/DefaultSite\/filesystem\/documents\/Governance\/Victorian%20Child%20Safety%20Standards%20June%202017.pdf\">Child Safe Standards<\/a> (effective from 1 January 2017) and changes to Working with Children Checks (effective from 1 August 2017).<\/p>\n<p>A series of club workshops and online training have been designed to help you and your club meet its obligations under Safeguarding Children Guidelines.\u00a0Clubs are strongly encouraged to have a committee member attend a workshop. Click <a href=\"https:\/\/tennisvic.wufoo.eu\/forms\/safeguarding-children-workshops\/\">here<\/a> to register.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thursday 23 November, 7pm\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Notting Hill-Pinewood TC<\/li>\n<li>Monday 11 December, 7pm\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Mt Martha Community Centre<\/li>\n<li>Wednesday 13 December, 7pm\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Moonee Valley Civic Centre (Committee Room)<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Further forums are being planned across metropolitan and country Melbourne through to November. Details will be announced shortly.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The following support is now available:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>An <a href=\"https:\/\/integrity.tennis.com.au\/ICCMS\/complaint.aspx\">online form<\/a> for lodging complaints<\/li>\n<li>A 24-hour telephone reporting and assistance service enabling victims to get information and advice on what to do next.
