{"id":16317,"date":"2016-11-02T15:12:06","date_gmt":"2016-11-02T04:12:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=16317"},"modified":"2016-11-02T15:12:06","modified_gmt":"2016-11-02T04:12:06","slug":"meet-the-staff-michelle-barry-and-sarah-green","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2016\/11\/02\/meet-the-staff-michelle-barry-and-sarah-green","title":{"rendered":"Meet the Staff &#8211; Michelle Barry and Sarah Green"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Name:<\/strong> Michelle Barry and Sarah Green<\/p>\n<p><strong>Title:<\/strong> School Development Coordinators<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your role at Tennis Victoria? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>M &amp; S:<\/strong> To increase the number of schools playing tennis in Victoria and provide the necessary support for this to occur.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best thing about the role?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>M:<\/strong> Knowing you are making a difference to the P.E curriculum and giving children their first exposure to tennis which can become a life-long activity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>S:<\/strong>\u00a0Speaking to teachers about all the benefits of Tennis and promoting an engaging and active sport that children can have fun doing in a positive environment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What was your previous role?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>M:<\/strong> P.E teacher at Warrandyte High School<\/p>\n<p><strong>S:<\/strong> Physical Education, Health and Science Teacher<\/p>\n<p><strong>What are your interests outside of Tennis Victoria?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>M:<\/strong> Travelling, spending time with my family and friends, playing sport.<\/p>\n<p><strong>S:\u00a0<\/strong>Anything where I am active, spending time with family and friends and travelling.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where has been the best place you\u2019ve travelled, and why? <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>M:<\/strong> In 2013 I did a teacher exchange to Canada. The Rockies in Canada are amazing both in the summer and the winter. There is breathtaking scenery everywhere you look and so many great walks to do.<\/p>\n<p><strong>S:<\/strong>\u00a0There are so many wonderful memories from places I\u2019ve travelled but I would have to say Germany \u2013 the weather and people were beautiful and I have lots of fun memories there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is one interesting fact that no one else knows about you?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>M: <\/strong>I am a qualified swim teacher<\/p>\n<p><strong>S:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>I use my cutlery in the opposite hands.<\/p>\n<p><strong>If you were Prime Minister of Australia for one day, what would your first change be?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>M: <\/strong>To fund all children to learn to swim.
