Defending champions and current ladder leaders<strong> Grace Park Hawthorn<\/strong>\u00a0enjoyed a 6 rubber to 0 victory over home team <strong>Royal South Yarra<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>At <strong>Dendy Park<\/strong>\u00a0it was a showdown between women&#8217;s teams Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club and <strong>Liston Tennis Club<\/strong>. Prior to the season, both teams were expected to make finals and their first match-up didn\u2019t disappoint. Both doubles matches went\u00a0the distance with\u00a0<strong>Monika Rajicic<\/strong> winning in 3 sets in the final singles to clinch the victory for Liston and put\u00a0them one step closer to a finals birth.<\/p>\n<p>The match of the round saw <strong>Cassandra Moraleja<\/strong> from Royal South Yarra defeat Dendy Park&#8217;s\u00a0<strong>Bojana Bobusic<\/strong> 13 11 in the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> set tiebreak to record her first win for the Tennis Victoria Premier League season.<\/p>\n<p>This\u00a0weekend will see\u00a0a double header with the men heading to Grace Park on Saturday and Bundoora on Sunday. The Country All Stars will look to remain in finals contention as they take on Bundoora Saturday and Grace Park Hawthorn Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Mornington (19 points) now hold a slender lead over Liston (18 points) and MCC Tennis Section (16 points) who all sit on two wins-a-piece.<\/p>\n<p>The Tennis Victoria Premier League continues this weekend with a double-header. Predicted grand finalist&#8217;s Grace Park Hawthorn, led by two-time Ace Award winner <strong>James Lemke<\/strong> and last year\u2019s Ace Award winner <strong>Jarryd Maher\u00a0<\/strong>take<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>on\u00a0powerhouse\u00a0Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club.<\/p>\n<p>In the women&#8217;s League, Liston Tennis Club play host on Saturday before the competition moves to Kooyong on Sunday.
