{"id":14668,"date":"2015-12-01T16:31:09","date_gmt":"2015-12-01T05:31:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/?p=14668"},"modified":"2015-12-04T16:49:02","modified_gmt":"2015-12-04T05:49:02","slug":"victorian-teams-through-to-asia-pacific-tennis-league-semi-finals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/news\/2015\/12\/01\/victorian-teams-through-to-asia-pacific-tennis-league-semi-finals","title":{"rendered":"Victorian teams through to Asia-Pacific Tennis League semi-finals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After six rounds of world class tennis played across two huge weekends, four Victorian teams have secured their place in the <strong>Asia-Pacific Tennis League (ATL) 2015 &#8211; South Conference<\/strong> semi-finals, to be played at Royal Park Tennis Club this Friday, 4 December. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=BVUHSOaXh-w&amp;feature=youtu.be\" target=\"_blank\">Live Stream the semi-finals here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>An exciting conclusion to the preliminary rounds in Yarrawonga at the weekend saw last year\u2019s Conference winners the <em>Kooyong\u00a0Classics<\/em> (men), men\u2019s and women\u2019s <em>Royal South\u00a0Yarras<\/em>, and <em>MCC Stars<\/em> (women) finish on top of the Pool A League to secure a place in the semi-finals.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVictoria is set for an interstate battle this weekend, as the competition for ATL finals spots hits top gear,\u201d Tennis Victoria\u2019s Competitions Manager Jeff Downes said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe strength of the Victorian teams on paper is extremely high, but as is the nature of the ATL with its shortened format, anything can happen and our clubs will have their work cut out to reach Sunday\u2019s final at the National Tennis Centre.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the men\u2019s league, the top placed Kooyong Classics led by <strong>Rubin Statham<\/strong> will go head-to-head with Pool B\u2019s runners up the <em>Western Wildlings<\/em> (WA), while the Royal South Yarras who boast Australian number 10 <strong>Luke Saville,<\/strong> will be tested against the undefeated <em>NETA Knights <\/em>led by <strong>Brad Mousley<\/strong> from South Australia.<\/p>\n<p>As the only team who remain undefeated, the dominant women\u2019s Royal South Yarras spearheaded by <strong>Storm Sanders,<\/strong> <strong>Daria Gavrilova<\/strong> and Australian Open 2016 Wildcard recipient <strong>Tammi Patterson<\/strong>, come up against Pool B\u2019s second placed <em>Prospect Flames<\/em> from South Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Last year\u2019s runners up MCC Stars will look to step up in the semis, led by <strong>Zoe Hives<\/strong> and <strong>Asia Muhammad<\/strong> (USA) the team will face tough competition in <strong>Jessica Moore\u2019s<\/strong> Western Wildlings.<\/p>\n<p>The ATL South Conference semi-finals will commence at 6.30pm this Friday, 4 December at the Royal Park Tennis Club.<\/p>\n<p>Successful teams will then proceed to Sunday\u2019s finals day, held at Melbourne Park on 6 December.
