These pilots will be the starting point for <strong><em>FAST4 <\/em><\/strong>before the national roll out in October this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is <em>FAST4 <\/em>Tennis?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>FAST4<\/em><\/strong> is a new modified social play, competition format developed with the time-poor adult in mind, the <strong><em>FAST4<\/em><\/strong> format ensures that everyone, anywhere has time for tennis. The fundamentals of the sport stay the same, but there are four innovative rules that ensure matches are fast, competitive, exciting and can be completed in a reasonable period of time.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 4 innovative rules include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Play Lets<\/li>\n<li>No Ad Scoring<\/li>\n<li>Tiebreaker at 3 games all<\/li>\n<li>First to 4 games wins<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><em>FAST4<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0tennis competitions consist of a 60 minute experience, consisting of 3 <strong><em>FAST4<\/em><\/strong> doubles sets time capped at 20 minutes per set.<\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t have to have played tennis before. These <strong><em>FAST4<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0tennis competitions have two sections catering for all playing standards. Social\/Beginner for those who haven\u2019t necessarily played a tennis competition before and Intermediate\/Advanced for the past player who have a more confidence in their ability.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>FAST4<\/em><\/strong> <strong>Tennis Competitions will be at the following Venues:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Warrnambool Lawn Tennis Club- Thursday nights from 5<sup>th<\/sup> March &#8211; 26<sup>th<\/sup> March<\/li>\n<li>Dingley Tennis Club- Tuesday nights from 17<sup>th<\/sup> March &#8211; 28<sup>th<\/sup> April<\/li>\n<li>Hume Community Tennis Centre- Monday nights from 23<sup>rd<\/sup> March &#8211; 27<sup>th<\/sup> April<\/li>\n<li>Hume Community Tennis Centre- Saturday mornings from 28<sup>th<\/sup> March &#8211; 2<sup>nd<\/sup> May<\/li>\n<li>Boroondara- Thursday nights from 2<sup>nd<\/sup> April &#8211; 7<sup>th<\/sup> May<\/li>\n<li>Royal Park- Sunday afternoons from 12<sup>th<\/sup> April &#8211; 10<sup>th<\/sup> May<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>With the focus on participate rather than result, random spot prizes will be given out at the end of each nights play for categories such as best dressed team or most enthusiastic player.<\/p>\n<p>To enter a <em>FAST4<\/em>\u00a0competition <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/vic\/competitions\/fast4\">click here<\/a>. \u00a0Choose the venue you wish to play at and fill in the online form. \u00a0When entering players don\u2019t need to commit to all weeks of the competition, instead you can pick the weeks that suit you best.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>FAST4\u00a0competitions are about to kick off around Victoria with 5 selected venues running pilot FAST4\u00a0tennis competitions.
