The 2014 Victorian Hard Court Championships has concluded at Notting Hill Pinewood Tennis Club today.<\/p>\n

Reigning men\u2019s champion and number one seed Daniel Byrnes made it back to back championships with a tough three set win over sixth seed Lewis Miles. He was presented with the perpetual trophy by the 1984 men\u2019s winner Ken Barton.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s top seed Arina Rodionova defeated second seed Slovakian Zuzana Zlochova in straight sets.<\/p>\n

In the men\u2019s doubles unseeded pair Sam Dowler and Zac Osborne defeated number one seeds Marlina Pascual and Chanchai Sookton-Eng in a super tie breaker 10-8. \u00a0In the women\u2019s doubles, the top seeds Dia Evtimova and Viktorija Rajicic defeated South African pair Chanel Simmonds and Michelle Sammons – also in a super tie breaker 11-9.<\/p>\n

Tennis Victoria\u2019s Tournaments Manager Andy Reynolds was pleased with the tournament. \u201cThe quality of the field was exceptional for a state championship. \u00a0Six women have a ranking inside the world\u2019s top 300 and the men also had a large number of quality pro tour players. The international players loved the venue, the atmosphere and the chance to play some great tennis as many move into the ATL season.\u201d<\/p>\n
