Adult and Junior Pennant

General Rules for Adult Pennants Teams representing Torrens Tennis Club

Pennant team members must be affiliated with an ACT tennis club (not necessarily the Torrens Tennis Club)

The pennant team coordinator, however, must be a financial member of the Torrens Tennis Club.

The team coordinator is responsible for:

  • Seeking approval from the Secretary TTC to play at courts
  • Organising and submitting a team to the ACT Tennis in the Adult Pennants Competition. The team must be a minimum of three paying players;
  • Submitting the Nomination Form to the ACT Tennis who will then forward a copy to the President, Secretary and the Treasurer.
  • Collecting $10 per player per game upfront prior to the commencement of the pennant competition, for example, if the pennant competition runs for 10 weeks, then $100 will be collected from each player in the team. Should the team reach the finals and there is a requirement to play a game at the TTC, there will be no charge.
  • Purchasing tennis balls for the pennant game using the money collected from team members;
  • Banking the remaining funds directly to the Torrens Tennis Club bank account within 4 weeks after the commencement of the competition, or, contact the Treasurer to make other arrangements. The banking details of the TTC are:

Commonwealth Bank, Canberra City
BSB 062 900
Account no. 0080 8901
Ref: Adult Pennant

NOTE: The fees collected from the pennant team members will cover;

  • The pennant registration fee;
  • Cost of tennis balls;
  • Cost of electricity when a pennant game is scheduled to be played at Torrens Tennis Courts; and
  • Court maintenance

ACT Tennis will invoice Torrens Tennis Club the registration fee for each pennant team entered approximately 2 weeks after commencement of the competition eg: for the 2018 Autumn Pennants, the fee is $170 for each registered team.

Please note: If a pennant team member is not registered with Torrens Tennis Club and is using the courts for training or playing other than pennant games, then they will need to pay the $5 non-member levy fee or alternatively be encouraged to become a member of the Torrens Tennis Club.
