As a result of only two courts the rules have been that members cannot book a court, with the exception of permanently booked Wednesday morning social tennis for the ladies. If there are other members waiting to use the court, please vacate after 8 games, or 30 minutes if just hitting, so all members get an equal opportunity to use the courts.
This applies to pennant training or other training going on at the court, BUT does not apply to the coach when having coaching lessons.
We must consider our members who wish to play and particularly at the weekend when those working only get the opportunity to play.
Non-members who book a court must also wait if a court is not available. Members have priority over non-members. Non-members can only book for one hour. In addition a non-member can only play three times a calendar year, otherwise they are expected to join the club.
Bookings for night tennis can be made for members and non-members. The timing for bookings in daylight saving time is from 7.30pm. This arrangement is that those people booking can get on the court and have the use of the lights. If no-one has a night booking then whilst daylight, members can continue to use the court up until dark.
At those times where it is dark before 7.30pm, then a booking must be made to obtain the light keys.
There are no permanent bookings permitted except Pennant Teams and any Social competitions.
No play is permitted after 10.30pm.
The recently introduced coloured shoe tags have caused some concern with charging. Non-members should be expected to pay something for the wear and tear of the court facilities.
Members are responsible for collecting the $5 fee from non-members and paying it to one of the Committee members or electronic transfer into the Torrens Tennis Club Account as follows:
