About Us

In 2000, after an advert was placed in the Tamborine Times, an enthusiastic band of eager tennis players met regularly to play and talk about getting a tennis club on Tamborine Mountain.

In November 2001, Tamborine Mountain Tennis Club held its inaugural meeting and was incorporated the following year.  The committee worked long hours to establish the club and hiring 2 courts at different times to play social tennis once a week.  Eagle Heights Hotel with its bitumen court and the North Tamborine Primary State School court for the evenings as the court had lights.

A couple of months later the courts were ready for play.  Sunday afternoons were filled with social tennis – doubles and mixed doubles at 88 Beacon Road, North Tamborine.
