Players\nfrom all over the state will have the opportunity to represent their region in\nthe Tasmanian Tri-Series Cup<\/strong> in January\n2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event will be held on the weekend of Saturday 30-Sunday 31 January <\/strong>at Burnie Tennis Club<\/strong>, with the recent success of the North vs North West Challenge Day in November<\/a> fueling the demand for players from the South to join the two aforementioned regions to compete in the upcoming summer challenge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Tri-Series Cup will feature the best elite male and female players in the state competing for their respective regions, with other divisions including A-Grade, over 40\u2019s and 60- plus, with a number of the state\u2019s talented junior players playing in the elite and A-Grade divisions<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southern Region Coordinator Tony Blom<\/strong> is excited about the prospect of the best players coming together in the one location, with the recent Premier League<\/a> and Southern Tennis League<\/a> seasons a strong indication of passion for competitive tennis in the Greater Hobart region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 \u201cThe Southern clubs and players had heard of\nthe success of the recent North vs North West challenge day, and are excited to\nget involved in something similar,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re\nlooking forward to January\u2019s event and can\u2019t wait to see players from each part\nof the state face each other across the weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

North West Coordinator Shaun Summers<\/strong> is hoping the event will become a regular fixture on the Tasmanian summer calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur North\nWest Tennis League and local clubs have been building towards an event like\nthis and think our best players will step up and perform very well, as they did\nin the recent regional challenge event in Launceston.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want to see more opportunities for the best players of all ages to compete together and we see this as the perfect platform to celebrate the summer of tennis.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tennis Tasmania General Manager Darren Sturgess<\/strong> praised regional and club\nvolunteers, who have been working behind the scenes to bring the concept to\nlife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 \u201cWe are looking forward to seeing the\nTri-Series Cup become an integral part of the Summer of Tennis calendar in the\nstate,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWith our three International tournaments unfortunately unable to proceed in 2021<\/a>, we see the event as a great opportunity for our clubs to get together in January and start the year on a strong note.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
