North claims Challenge over North West Tennis League"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The sun was out for the <strong>Tennis North vs North West Tennis League Challenge<\/strong> in Launceston on Saturday 21 October, with almost 100 competitors from a wide range of clubs in the two regions taking to the courts at <strong>Tennis World Launceston<\/strong> and the <strong>Newstead Tennis and Squash Centre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Consisting\nof five divisions, the event was taken out by Tennis North, who claimed the\nA-Grade, Ladies and Junior divisions respectively to record a 3-2 win in front\nof strong crowds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>North West Tennis League committee member <strong>Shaun Summers<\/strong> hailed the Challenge as a success, highlighting the strong support the day received from players, volunteers and families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe\nweather was magnificent and everyone had a good day,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" saying how much they enjoyed playing competitive tennis against players they\u2019d never faced before.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tennis North President <strong>Craig Boyce<\/strong> echoed Summers\u2019 sentiment, and is optimistic of a similar event including players from the Hobart region together in the near future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe\nfeedback I\u2019ve received from players in all divisions has been very positive,\nand there was a great buzz around both venues, culminating in the social\nbarbeque,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe match\nbetween Ben Barnett and Sam Whitehead was as good as any match I\u2019ve seen in\nTasmania for a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re hoping for a similar day involving players from the South of the state this
