{"id":9347,"date":"2020-07-16T14:22:25","date_gmt":"2020-07-16T04:22:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/?p=9347"},"modified":"2020-07-22T14:58:46","modified_gmt":"2020-07-22T04:58:46","slug":"tassie-juniors-all-smiles-at-july-development-camp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/news\/2020\/07\/16\/tassie-juniors-all-smiles-at-july-development-camp","title":{"rendered":"Tassie juniors all smiles at July development camp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tasmanian junior players aged 10-17 years have hit the courts at the Domain Tennis Centre in Hobart for a series of player development camps.<\/p>\n<p>Over 40 players from around the state participated in the programs, held across six days in the south of the state, with many looking forward to a return to tournament play on the final weekend of the school holiday period.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe theme of the camps has been driving intensity and defining what that is,\u201d Tennis Tasmania <strong>Talent Operations Manager Trent Constance<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIntensity in tennis is about good footwork, strong concentration and positive energy, and the players have demonstrated a great level of bringing these into activities every day.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Constance was pleased with how players from all around the state worked together during the camps, with many attendees having not taken to the courts together since pre-COVID-19 restrictions were applied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of the players participate in the regional player development squads that we have running weekly, as well as working with their private coach squads,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey\u2019re all part of a program pathway and enjoying their tennis, especially when we\u2019re able to bring everyone together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/files\/2020\/07\/Webp.net-resizeimage-6-700x450.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"450\" class=\"alignnone size-standard-landscape wp-image-9349\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/files\/2020\/07\/Webp.net-resizeimage-6-700x450.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/files\/2020\/07\/Webp.net-resizeimage-6-360x230.jpg 360w, https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/files\/2020\/07\/Webp.net-resizeimage-6-200x128.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>For 10-year old junior player Escher Case-Boag, the highlights of the week were the matches at the end of each day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is one of my first camps and I\u2019ve already made heaps of friends,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Rupert Mullins enjoyed pushing himself during the fitness challenges, with the Hobart junior old all smiles on the final day of camp.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been doing lots of work around our energy and putting in 100 per cent,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The 11-year old has been playing tennis for four years, and like many of his fellow camp attendees, was looking forward to competing in the upcoming Tennis World July Classic, to be held in Launceston from Friday until Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>This weekend will also see a return to tournament play in the south of the state, with the Geilston Bay UTR Open to be held on Saturday and Sunday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over 40 players from around the state hit the courts in Hobart for a series of holiday camps<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6260,"featured_media":9348,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[73,219,141],"class_list":["post-9347","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-news","tag-player-development","tag-trent-constance"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/9347","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/6260"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=9347"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/9347\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/9348"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=9347"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=9347"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=9347"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
