{"id":10309,"date":"2021-06-09T10:45:17","date_gmt":"2021-06-09T00:45:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/?p=10309"},"modified":"2021-06-09T10:54:11","modified_gmt":"2021-06-09T00:54:11","slug":"nominations-for-tennis-tasmania-board-now-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/news\/2021\/06\/09\/nominations-for-tennis-tasmania-board-now-open","title":{"rendered":"Nominations for Tennis Tasmania Board positions now open"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tennis Tasmania is calling for nominations for two member-elected board positions.<\/p>\n<p>In accordance with the constitution, retiring board member Julie Fletcher is ineligible for re-election and retiring board member Robert Miller is eligible for re-election.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the Roles<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Board comprising 6 elected and up to 3 appointed members is responsible for overseeing the governance and strategic direction of Tennis Tasmania.<\/p>\n<p>The board typically meets 6 times per year, alternating via teleconference and in person at Campbell Town from 4.30pm \u2013 7.30pm on a Wednesday night.<\/p>\n<p>Board members are expected to attend the annual general meeting and club forum and awards function associated with the AGM.<\/p>\n<p>Director positions are voluntary.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Selection Process<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tennis Tasmania\u2019s Board executive will oversee the process, with a vote to be conducted, if required, with all affiliated members between 2 July and 1 August.<\/p>\n<p>Both the President, Martin Turmine, and Vice President Pip Leedham, are available to discuss the role with interested applicants.<\/p>\n<p>Please make contact via email with either Martin at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:martinturmine@gmail.com\">martinturmine@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0or Pip at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:prleedham@gmail.com\">prleedham@gmail.com<\/a>\u00a0to arrange a discussion time.<\/p>\n<p>To apply, please provide a two-page summary outlining how you meet the Director\u2019s competencies along with a copy of your CV with one referee.<\/p>\n<p>Expressions of interest will be due to Tennis Tasmania by 11:59pm, Wednesday 30 June 2021, emailed to the President, Martin Turmine at <a href=\"mailto:martinturmine@gmail.com\">martinturmine@gmail.com\u00a0<\/a>with the title Tennis Tasmania EOI.<\/p>\n<p>Affiliated members will be advised of all candidates with the optimal skills and experience for an election process.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Vision and Purpose<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Vision:<\/strong> More people playing tennis, more often<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aspiration:<\/strong> Make tennis the number one activity of choice in Tasmania<\/p>\n<p><strong>Goals:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1.
