{"id":10069,"date":"2021-04-20T11:51:41","date_gmt":"2021-04-20T01:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/?p=10069"},"modified":"2021-04-20T16:21:05","modified_gmt":"2021-04-20T06:21:05","slug":"rafa-nadal-tour-junior-champions-crowned-in-burnie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/news\/2021\/04\/20\/rafa-nadal-tour-junior-champions-crowned-in-burnie","title":{"rendered":"Rafa Nadal Tour junior champions crowned in Burnie"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"kvgmc6g5 cxmmr5t8 oygrvhab hcukyx3x c1et5uql ii04i59q\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">\n<p>The globally renowned <strong>Rafa Nadal Tour<\/strong> hit Tasmania across the final weekend of school holidays, with <strong>Burnie Tennis Club<\/strong> playing host to three days of action on and off the courts.<\/p>\n<p>A junior tennis circuit launched in Spain in 2014, Rafa Nadal Tour events are is now held in different states around Australia thanks to Tennis Australia\u2019s long-term relationship with world No.2 Rafael Nadal, with the Tasmanian leg seeing a number of interstate juniors travel to compete against the state&#8217;s best 12\/u and 14\/u players.<\/p>\n<p>A strong focus of the events is aiming to establish strong fundamental values among junior players, with a <em>Trophy of Values<\/em> awarded to one player in each division who best represents the four main pillars of the tour: <strong>SPORTSMANSHIP<\/strong>, <strong>COMMITMENT<\/strong>, <strong>FELLOWSHIP<\/strong> and <strong>EFFORT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_10097\" style=\"width: 710px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-10097\" class=\"size-standard-landscape wp-image-10097\" src=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/files\/2021\/04\/14boysfinalists-700x450.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"700\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/files\/2021\/04\/14boysfinalists-700x450.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/files\/2021\/04\/14boysfinalists-360x230.jpg 360w, https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/tas\/files\/2021\/04\/14boysfinalists-200x128.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-10097\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>14\/u boys finalists George Anderson and Juan Alberto Beltran.<\/em><\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Tournament Director Chris Chandler<\/strong> was pleased with how the Junior Gold tournament played out.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;All of the juniors competed well, but more that that, they really embraced the values aspect of the event,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It was great to see a lot of local players challenging themselves against players who are at a strong level, and they all supported each other.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;d like to send a special thanks out to our &#8216;Rafa man&#8217;
