Many of you will be aware that effective immediately we are postponing all Tennis Australia and Tennis Tasmania operated events, competitions and tournaments until further notice.

We have made the decision to take further precautions in the interest of the health and wellbeing of our community.

Our goal is to avoid bringing crowds together in order to help contain the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and minimise the inevitable strain on our healthcare system.

This decision is based on expert medical advice and is in line with the recommendations of the global tennis community.

We realise this may cause inconvenience in the short-term however, our objective is ensuring our community remains healthy and strong.

We will continue to keep you updated and thank you for your cooperation during this difficult time for all of us.

We understand you will have many questions as we are in an unprecedented situation. Below you will find some answers to help you during this time.

What events have been postponed?
All Junior Development Series and Australian Ranking tournaments including Australian Money Tournaments (AMT) and Junior Tournaments (JT) are postponed. This includes scheduled April tournaments in Tasmania.

All online entry mechanisms have been or will close shortly until further notice.

Additionally, in Tasmania no Tassie Junior League (South and North), Hot Shots Match Play (South and North West), Challenge Cup (North West), and Super 10s (South, North) will play until further notice.

Local competitions, leagues or pennants not operated by Tennis Tasmania are at the discretion of the Club or Association that runs the competition.

What does this mean for the tournament I am entered in to?
If you have entered into a Tasmanian JT, AMT or JDS, you will receive an entry fee refund.

If you have entered into one of the above-mentioned tournaments, the Tournament Director will contact you.

For all other local tournaments or events, please contact the local tournament organiser.

For all other tournaments operated by Clubs or Associations, the decision for postponement or cancellation is at the discretion of the relevant Club or Association.

What does this mean for coaching?
Coaching lessons will continue at the discretion of the Coaching provider.

I run a competition or tournament, what do I do?
We recognise these are very difficult decisions to make.

We have made decisions based on the best medical advice available in the interests of public health.

Tennis Tasmania staff will be on hand to support your decision-making.
