AGM and Charity Day 2nd September 2015

07 September 2015 |

On Wednesday September 2nd The Sunshine Coast Midweek Ladies Tennis Association held their Annual General meeting at Kawana Tennis Club. This event is held in Conjunction with a Charity Tennis Tournament. The meeting was reasonably well attended with most fixture teams represented. The meeting was opened by President Annie Lyons who welcomed attendees. After the election of office bearers for the next year were announced  and the previous office bearers thanked the meeting closed. Morning tea was set out and an array of tasty fruit, savouries and delicious cakes along with a cuppa was enjoyed before the tennis commenced. Three sets of tennis were played in the Fast Four Format. The charity selected by the club was the Sunshine Coast Riding for the Disabled. The guest speaker Lee Crispin gave an informative talk about this charity. A sign of great interest in the talk was the number of questions coming from the ladies present after the talk. Charity person Carol Morris presented Lee with a  cheque for $650 the profits from the day to Sunshine Coast Riding for the Disabled. Lee was also presented with a Coffee Mug for her attendance. Lee in turn thanked the Ladies Tennis Association for the donation and assured them the money will be very welcome and used to continue this vital service.
