Charity Day Wrap-up

The Annual General Meeting of the Sunshine Coast Ladies Midweek Tennis Association was held at the Kawana Tennis Club on August 31st at 9am. The meeting was well attended & election of Office Bearers was conducted as well as other business.

 Following the AGM a delicious morning tea & fruit was served.

This was followed by a  three round tennis tournament. There were 36 ladies participating  in the tennis.

Winner of the Division 1 & 2 was Sandra Jackson from Mooloolaba Makitas.   

Runner up for Division 1 & 2 was Aki Lepper from Maroochydore Avengers.

Winner for Division 3 & 4 was Anne Dunn from Maleny Club (pictured left above with Dee South who donated the fabulous prizes).

There were several players finishing on 14 points for second place in this division. The Tennis Queensland Rep selected a secret number to decide who would take home the runner up prize. 

Runner up was finally decided & Raellen Muhs from Kawana Slammers was the lucky player.

Thank you to Dee from Yandina for her generous gift of the prizes for the Tennis Competition. Dee also had a large array of tennis apparel. There will be some new outfits on the tennis courts in the next few weeks.

A display of Esteem Jewellery was well presented by Michelle Rosetta.At the conclusion of the day Michelle donated a pair of gold drop earrings valued at $160 to be used for our Charity Day next year. Thank you Michelle.

Also present was Lesley Williams who plays tennis from Kawana Tennis Club. Lesley is a very talented Milliner. She was selected to make the hats for the stage play My Fair Lady in Brisbane. She has had many of her creations win prizes at Fashion on the Field at many Race Meetings in Brisbane & surrounding meetings. She had a very stylish display of her millenary which many ladies enjoyed trying on her handiwork. Thank you Lesley for you generous donation to our chosen Charity.

Thank you to Raellen who donated the Raffle Prize of a $100 voucher to be spent at the Spirit House at Yandina.

Thank you to all the Tennis Teams who provided prizes for the Cent Sale. This helps to make an enjoyable day more profitable.

Thank you to the Committee & many others who helped Carol Morris in organising the day. A great day of tennis & chatting was had by all.

Profits from the day will be in excess of $800. All the money raised will be donated to Give Me 5 for Kids.
