{"id":9515,"date":"2016-02-03T16:49:44","date_gmt":"2016-02-03T06:19:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=9515"},"modified":"2016-02-04T14:03:43","modified_gmt":"2016-02-04T03:33:43","slug":"south-australian-boys-super-10s-national-winners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2016\/02\/03\/south-australian-boys-super-10s-national-winners","title":{"rendered":"South Australian boys Super 10\u2019s National winners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The South Australian boys team has taken the Super 10s National Title defeating all other states in the recent competition held in Melbourne during the Australian Open.<\/p>\n<p>The team consisting of (pictured Lto R)\u00a0<strong>David Reutlinger, Alex Despoja, Henry Lamchinniah and Anthony Wu,<\/strong>\u00a0defeated Victoria, Tasmania and Western Australia in round robin matches, followed by Queensland in the final.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Lamchinniah,<\/strong> who had an excellent tournament, picked up the prized \u2018Hewitt Award\u2019 for tactical understanding which was voted on by team managers throughout the event.<\/p>\n<p>The South Australian girls team of <strong>Andrea Kristo, Elim Yan, Alessia Van Der Eerden <\/strong>and <strong>Elizabeth Probyn-Shingles<\/strong> also had a fantastic event finishing fifth with some very close, hard fought matches.<\/p>\n<p>The teams were coached and managed by <strong>Jim Chaousis<\/strong> (JC Tennis and Fitness) and <strong>Codie George<\/strong> (Tennis SA Millswood Complex), who both did an exceptional job.<\/p>\n<p>Other highlights throughout the event included three South Australian players having the opportunity to toss the coin for Australian Open finals matches:<\/p>\n<p>Alex Despoja &#8211; Mens singles Semi-Final Djokovic v Federer<br \/>\nAndrea Kristo &#8211; Womens singles Semi-Final William v Radwanska<br \/>\nAlessia Van Der Eerden &#8211; Womens doubles Final Hingis\/Mirza v Hlavackova\/Hradecka<\/p>\n<p><strong>Background <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Super 10s competition facilitates play for 10 and under athletes, with a culture of fair play, team work and acknowledgement.<\/p>\n<p>The Super 10s competition is played using the FAST4 Tennis format in 50 minute matches with coaches on court to assist with development, tactics, behaviour, technique and to foster a positive learning environment.<\/p>\n<p>The players were selected from the 2015 South Australian Super 10s competition, with the 2016 seasons to be held in May and November.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/files\/2016\/02\/South-Australian-Super-10s-boys-cropped.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-standard-landscape wp-image-9523\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/files\/2016\/02\/South-Australian-Super-10s-boys-cropped-700x450.jpg\" alt=\"South Australian Super 10s boys cropped\" width=\"700\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/files\/2016\/02\/South-Australian-Super-10s-boys-cropped-700x450.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/files\/2016\/02\/South-Australian-Super-10s-boys-cropped-360x230.jpg 360w, https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/files\/2016\/02\/South-Australian-Super-10s-boys-cropped-200x128.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Back: Jim Chaousis (Team Coach and Manager)<\/p>\n<p>Front (L-R): Anthony Wu, Henry Lamchinniah, David Reutlinger and Alex Despoja<\/p>\n<p>For further information on Super 10s, please visit: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/leagues\/super-10s\">http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/leagues\/super-10s<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Or<\/p>\n<p>Andrew Waters<br \/>\nTalent Development Manager<br \/>\n<a href=\"mailto:awaters@tennis.com.au\">awaters@tennis.com.au<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The South Australian boys team has taken the Super 10s National Title defeating all other states in the recent competition held in Melbourne during the Australian Open.
