Sunday saw the Second and Third rounds of the Junior ATL take place at Millswood Tennis Complex.
\nIn the Boys Draw, North East Tennis Association enjoyed a 4 rubbers to 2 win against Hills Tennis Association.\u00a0 Blake Lowen<\/strong> led NETA on their way with a 4-1 4-1 victory against Hamish Crawford<\/strong>.\u00a0 Matt Casey<\/strong> from HTA fought hard winning his singles 4-0 4-2 against Matt Hoang<\/strong>, whilst also combining with James May<\/strong> to defeat Bradley Smith<\/strong> and Matt Hoang<\/strong> 1-4 4-0 4-3 in a close encounter.<\/p>\n

Southern Districts had a 5 rubbers to 1 win against Western Districts. Stan Karahalios<\/strong> led the way, winning 4-1 4-1 against Caleb Hansen<\/strong>. Cooper Lambert<\/strong> and Nicholas Brown<\/strong> secured a consolation victory in the doubles for Western Districts with a 4-3 4-3 win against Jock Piper<\/strong> and Alex Bruschi<\/strong>.
\nIn the other match, Eastern Districts accounted for Glenelg Districts 6 rubbers to 0, with Liam Hounsell<\/strong> and David Wang<\/strong> leading the way with straight sets victories over Pierce Hynes<\/strong> and Adarsh Jacob<\/strong> respectively.<\/p>\n

On the girls side, Southern Districts had a 5 rubbers to 1 win over Western Districts, but they were forced to work very hard for their win. This was highlighted by the battle in both singles and doubles between Jacqui Scott<\/strong> of SDTA and Serena Williams<\/strong> from WDTA. Jacqui prevailed 4-3 3-4 4-3 in the singles. Jacqui <\/strong>then teamed up with Cydney Crumble<\/strong> to defeat Serena Williams<\/strong> and Maggie Pearce<\/strong> 4-3 3-4 4-3. Eastern Districts defeated Glenelg Districts by 4 rubbers to 2. Rhita Zhitsova<\/strong> and Angela Galentomas<\/strong> set up the win for EDTA with straight sets wins in their singles matches against Jayne Hedger<\/strong> and Charlotte Thomas<\/strong> respectively.<\/p>\n

Natasha Svetlichny<\/strong> fought hard for GDTA, winning her singles 4-1 4-2 against Juliette Robinson<\/strong>, before joining Anh Bui<\/strong> to defeat Georgia Wallis<\/strong> and Leila McColl<\/strong> 4-2 4-1 in their doubles encounter. Hills Tennis Association had a 5 rubbers to 1 win over North East Tennis Association in the final match. Emily Nairn<\/strong> was in great form winning her singles, then joining Jess Klatt<\/strong> to claim the doubles against Isabella Wu<\/strong> and Natalie Quast<\/strong> 4-1 4-0.<\/p>\n

After a short lunch break and some refreshments, the afternoon session commenced just after Midday.\u00a0 NETA boys had a 6 rubbers to 0 win against GDTA. Dale Nixon<\/strong> was in good form with a 4-2 4-2 victory over Pierce Hynes<\/strong> to set-up the victory. EDTA also enjoyed a 6 rubbers to 0 victory against WDTA. Callum Gale<\/strong> helped guide EDTA on their way to victory with a 4-1 4-0 win against Nicholas Brown<\/strong>.\u00a0 Cooper Lambert<\/strong> was gallant in defeat, pushing Alex Carroll<\/strong> all the way in their singles match, before Alex<\/strong> won 4-3 4-2.<\/p>\n

In the final match of the round, SDTA defeated HTA 4 rubbers to 2. Josh Laka<\/strong> had a 4-0 3-4 4-0 win against Brandon Wall<\/strong> to give SDTA the advantage. James May<\/strong> gave HTA hope of a win by securing his singles 4-2 2-4 4-0 against Jock Piper<\/strong>, but SDTA prevailed after claiming a doubles victory.<\/p>\n

In the girls draw, GDTA had a 5 rubbers to 1 win over NETA.\u00a0 Olivia Manzie<\/strong> set-up the victory for GDTA with a 4-1 4-2 win against Michiko Trebilco<\/strong>. Hailey Swanson<\/strong> secured a rubber for NETA with a well fought 4-2 1-4 4-1 win against Jayne Hedger<\/strong>. SDTA also had a 5 rubbers to 1 win over their opponents in HTA. Jess Klatt<\/strong> gave HTA some hope with a 4-3 2-4 4-2 win against Ebony Harper<\/strong>, but SDTA were too strong with Lucy Eaton<\/strong> leading the way with a 4-3 4-1 victory against Olivia Hughes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

WDTA had a 4 rubbers to 2 win against EDTA in the final match. Maggie Pearce<\/strong> was in blistering form in securing the victory for WDTA, not dropping a game in either her singles or doubles matches. Leila McColl<\/strong> fought hard for EDTA with a 4-1 4-3 win against Chiva Chauhan<\/strong>, whilst Meeka Marshall<\/strong> and Angela Galentomas<\/strong> claimed a close 4-3 4-3 victory against Millie Pearce<\/strong> and Chiva Chauhan<\/strong> of WDTA<\/p>\n

Rounds 4 and 5 will take place this Sunday 16th<\/sup> of November from 9am at Millswood Tennis Complex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
