{"id":8918,"date":"2015-11-10T16:11:21","date_gmt":"2015-11-10T05:41:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=8918"},"modified":"2015-11-10T16:26:34","modified_gmt":"2015-11-10T05:56:34","slug":"junior-atl-wrap-rounds-2-and-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2015\/11\/10\/junior-atl-wrap-rounds-2-and-3","title":{"rendered":"Junior ATL Wrap \u2013 Rounds 2 and 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sunday saw the Second and Third rounds of the Junior ATL take place at Millswood Tennis Complex.<br \/>\nIn the Boys Draw, North East Tennis Association enjoyed a 4 rubbers to 2 win against Hills Tennis Association.\u00a0 <strong>Blake Lowen<\/strong> led NETA on their way with a 4-1 4-1 victory against <strong>Hamish Crawford<\/strong>.\u00a0 <strong>Matt Casey<\/strong> from HTA fought hard winning his singles 4-0 4-2 against <strong>Matt Hoang<\/strong>, whilst also combining with <strong>James May<\/strong> to defeat <strong>Bradley Smith<\/strong> and <strong>Matt Hoang<\/strong> 1-4 4-0 4-3 in a close encounter.<\/p>\n<p>Southern Districts had a 5 rubbers to 1 win against Western Districts. <strong>Stan Karahalios<\/strong> led the way, winning 4-1 4-1 against <strong>Caleb Hansen<\/strong>. <strong>Cooper Lambert<\/strong> and <strong>Nicholas Brown<\/strong> secured a consolation victory in the doubles for Western Districts with a 4-3 4-3 win against <strong>Jock Piper<\/strong> and <strong>Alex Bruschi<\/strong>.<br \/>\nIn the other match, Eastern Districts accounted for Glenelg Districts 6 rubbers to 0, with <strong>Liam Hounsell<\/strong> and <strong>David Wang<\/strong> leading the way with straight sets victories over <strong>Pierce Hynes<\/strong> and <strong>Adarsh Jacob<\/strong> respectively.<\/p>\n<p>On the girls side, Southern Districts had a 5 rubbers to 1 win over Western Districts, but they were forced to work very hard for their win. This was highlighted by the battle in both singles and doubles between <strong>Jacqui Scott<\/strong> of SDTA and <strong>Serena Williams<\/strong> from WDTA. Jacqui prevailed 4-3 3-4 4-3 in the singles. <strong>Jacqui <\/strong>then teamed up with <strong>Cydney Crumble<\/strong> to defeat <strong>Serena Williams<\/strong> and <strong>Maggie Pearce<\/strong> 4-3 3-4 4-3. Eastern Districts defeated Glenelg Districts by 4 rubbers to 2. <strong>Rhita Zhitsova<\/strong> and <strong>Angela Galentomas<\/strong> set up the win for EDTA with straight sets wins in their singles matches against <strong>Jayne Hedger<\/strong> and <strong>Charlotte Thomas<\/strong> respectively.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Natasha Svetlichny<\/strong> fought hard for GDTA, winning her singles 4-1 4-2 against <strong>Juliette Robinson<\/strong>, before joining <strong>Anh Bui<\/strong> to defeat <strong>Georgia Wallis<\/strong> and <strong>Leila McColl<\/strong> 4-2 4-1 in their doubles encounter. Hills Tennis Association had a 5 rubbers to 1 win over North East Tennis Association in the final match. <strong>Emily Nairn<\/strong> was in great form winning her singles, then joining <strong>Jess Klatt<\/strong> to claim the doubles against <strong>Isabella Wu<\/strong> and <strong>Natalie Quast<\/strong> 4-1 4-0.<\/p>\n<p>After a short lunch break and some refreshments, the afternoon session commenced just after Midday.\u00a0 NETA boys had a 6 rubbers to 0 win against GDTA. <strong>Dale Nixon<\/strong> was in good form with a 4-2 4-2 victory over <strong>Pierce Hynes<\/strong> to set-up the victory. EDTA also enjoyed a 6 rubbers to 0 victory against WDTA. <strong>Callum Gale<\/strong> helped guide EDTA on their way to victory with a 4-1 4-0 win against <strong>Nicholas Brown<\/strong>.\u00a0 <strong>Cooper Lambert<\/strong> was gallant in defeat, pushing <strong>Alex Carroll<\/strong> all the way in their singles match, before <strong>Alex<\/strong> won 4-3 4-2.<\/p>\n<p>In the final match of the round, SDTA defeated HTA 4 rubbers to 2. <strong>Josh Laka<\/strong> had a 4-0 3-4 4-0 win against <strong>Brandon Wall<\/strong> to give SDTA the advantage. <strong>James May<\/strong> gave HTA hope of a win by securing his singles 4-2 2-4 4-0 against <strong>Jock Piper<\/strong>, but SDTA prevailed after claiming a doubles victory.<\/p>\n<p>In the girls draw, GDTA had a 5 rubbers to 1 win over NETA.\u00a0 <strong>Olivia Manzie<\/strong> set-up the victory for GDTA with a 4-1 4-2 win against <strong>Michiko Trebilco<\/strong>. <strong>Hailey Swanson<\/strong> secured a rubber for NETA with a well fought 4-2 1-4 4-1 win against <strong>Jayne Hedger<\/strong>.
