{"id":7972,"date":"2015-03-08T15:41:05","date_gmt":"2015-03-08T06:11:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=7972"},"modified":"2015-03-08T15:41:05","modified_gmt":"2015-03-08T06:11:05","slug":"day-9-2015-nyrstar-port-pirie-tennis-international-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2015\/03\/08\/day-9-2015-nyrstar-port-pirie-tennis-international-2","title":{"rendered":"Day 9 &#8211; 2015 Nyrstar Port Pirie Tennis International"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The weather finished off the tournament beautifully here in Port Pirie to finish off the 2015 Nyrstar Port Pirie Tennis International.<\/p>\n<p>In the Men\u2019s Final Australian <strong>Matthew Barton<\/strong> took to the court first and seemed eager to get the match underway \u00a0with \u00a0the crowd not leaving one seat unattended. <strong>Barton<\/strong> continued his good form against his opponent <strong>Alexander Sarkissian (USA)<\/strong> \u00a0taking out the first set in in style 6-3. In the second <strong>Sarkissian<\/strong> tried to regain poseur but seemed unable to when <strong>Barton<\/strong> continued to hit winners across court. \u00a0<strong>Barton<\/strong> took control when <strong>Sarkissian<\/strong> became frustrated and lost his temper at 4-2 \u00a0in the second set winning the match 6-3 6-4. <strong>Barton<\/strong> received his second title in South Australia after winning his first title at the Charles Sturt Tennis International in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>In an entertaining women\u2019s \u00a0final, third seed <strong>Su Jeong Jang (KOR) <\/strong>came out firing against fellow Korean <strong>Na-Lae Han<\/strong> winning the first set 6-3, showing why she won the Clare Valley Tennis International in the previous week. \u00a0<strong>Jang<\/strong> got to a quick start in the second set with a 4-2 lead and looked to put the match to an end. <strong>Han<\/strong> in a remarkable comeback won the next four games in a row shocking the crowd and her opponent winning the second set 6-4. <strong>Han<\/strong> went on to win the next four games in a row before <strong>Jang<\/strong> tried to have a comeback but was unable to strike back awarding the final to <strong>Han <\/strong>3-6 6-4 6-2 for the 2015 Nyrstar Port Pirie Tennis International.<\/p>\n<p>Our sincere thanks to Tournament Coordinators Neil Lucas and Grant Hanlon and the team here at the Port Pirie &amp; District Tennis Association who \u00a0have worked tirelessly over the past ten days to make this tournament a huge success.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the Australian Pro Tour or Tennis Australia visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\">www.tennis.com.au<\/a>.
