{"id":7734,"date":"2015-01-04T22:30:38","date_gmt":"2015-01-04T13:00:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=7734"},"modified":"2015-01-04T22:30:38","modified_gmt":"2015-01-04T13:00:38","slug":"day-2-city-of-onkaparinga-atp-challenger-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2015\/01\/04\/day-2-city-of-onkaparinga-atp-challenger-2015","title":{"rendered":"Day 2 &#8211; City of Onkaparinga ATP Challenger 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>All qualifying seeds took to the court for the first time on day 2 of the <strong>City of Onkaparinga ATP Challenger 2015,<\/strong> with eight matches completed in sunny conditions.<\/p>\n<p>In the surprise match of the day, number one seed <strong>Stefano Travaglia (ITA)<\/strong> was taken out by Australia\u2019s <strong>Andrew Whittington<\/strong> 6-3 7-5.<\/p>\n<p>On Centre Court, South Australian, <strong>Darren Polkinghorne<\/strong> got off to a great start against Belgian second seed <strong>Maxime Authom,<\/strong> taking the first set 6-3, before Authom won the second and third sets 7-5 6-0 respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Day 2 also brought with it two on court retirements early in the day. Number four seed <strong>Louk Sorensen<\/strong> (IRL) was forced to retire at 0-1 in the second set, having lost the first set 6-3, sending Australian <strong>Jacob Grills<\/strong> into the final round of qualifying. In similar circumstances, eighth seeded <strong>Nils Langer <\/strong>(GER) also retired at 0-1 in the second set, sending Australian <strong>Andrew Harris <\/strong>through to the next round.<\/p>\n<p>In the top half of the draw, <strong>[7] Bryden Klein<\/strong> (GBR) defeated <strong>Sanchai Ratiwatana<\/strong> (THA) 6-3 6-2, [6] <strong>Tristan Lamasine<\/strong> (FRA) was too strong for Sanchai\u2019s brother <strong>Sonchat<\/strong> (THA) 7-6 6-3.
