Todd Woodbridge was the guest speaker and entertained the crowd with some great stories from his playing days.\u00a0Congratulations to not only all winners, but to all who were nominated.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nick Altman, Jeff Penfold and Peter Carter Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These awards recognise the male and female player of the year across the 12&amp;Under, 14&amp;Under and 16&amp;Under age groups. The criterion for the award recognises an individual&#8217;s best performances as well as being regarded as the complete sportsperson.<\/p>\n<p><em>12&amp;Under Boy:\u00a0<\/em>Jasper Benson<\/p>\n<p><em>14&amp;Under Boy:<\/em> Stefan Norodom<\/p>\n<p><em>16&amp;Under Boy:<\/em> Daniel Hobart<\/p>\n<p><em>12&amp;Under Girl:<\/em> Natasha Russell<\/p>\n<p><em>14&amp;Under Girl:<\/em> Selina Turulja<\/p>\n<p><em>16&amp;Under Girl:<\/em> Petra Hule<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Don Turnbull Trophy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Awarded to the best male tennis player under the age of 18 in South Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Thanasi Kokkinakis<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Gwen Thiele Trophy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Awarded to the best female tennis player under the age of 18 in South Australia.<\/p>\n<p>Chloe Hule<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cooper Alehouse Metro State League Awards<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Female Winners: <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Memorial Drive<\/p>\n<p>Melanie Clayton<\/p>\n<p>Melissa Beadman<\/p>\n<p>Asaka Hiura<\/p>\n<p>Michelle Leyden<\/p>\n<p>Emma Bailey<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Female Player of the Year:\u00a0<\/em>Michelle Leyden, Memorial Drive Tennis Club<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Male Winners:<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Trinity Titans<\/p>\n<p>Li Tu<\/p>\n<p>David To<\/p>\n<p>Adam Alessandrini<\/p>\n<p>Andrew Tavella<\/p>\n<p>James Ma<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Male Player of the Year:<\/em> Martin Richards, Broadview Tennis Club<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Volunteer of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This award recognises the outstanding achievement and contributions performed by a volunteer towards the growth and development of the game of tennis. It recognises the commitment, time and effort that volunteers provide in ensuring we have the opportunity to participate in the game of tennis.<\/p>\n<p>In 2014, this award was jointly won by Rick Bailey (Tod St Tennis Club and Gawler and District Tennis Association) and Joanna Overbeek (Port Adelaide Tennis Club).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coach of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This award recognises the outstanding achievements and contributions performed by a tennis coach towards the growth and development of the game of tennis. It recognises and acknowledges the significance of the coaches&#8217; role in ensuring a successful junior development program and a sustainable future for the Club and its Association.<\/p>\n<p>Many worthy nominations were received for this category in 2014. This led to a decision to award joint winners: one recognising a coach who excels in the area of high performance\/talent development and one acknowledging a coach who does great work through the grassroots programs at a local level. Moving forward, we will look to see if this is something we can offer every year to ensure coaches of all levels are being recognised.<\/p>\n<p>In 2014, this award was jointly won by Ben Milner and Andrew Waters.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Club of the Year<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These awards recognise the outstanding achievement in the development of effective management practices of affiliated Clubs and innovative approaches in the provision of services to their membership base and the local community.<\/p>\n<p><em>Metropolitan Club of the Year:<\/em> Seaside Tennis Club<\/p>\n<p><em>Country Club of the Year:<\/em>\u00a0Hilltown Tennis Club<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Excellence in Officiating<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Awards to an outstanding tennis official who exemplifies great technique and a willingness to continually improve their skills.<\/p>\n<p>Stuart Nancarrow<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burr Medal and Boyce Medal<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Burr and Boyce Awards are presented to the best and fairest male and female players who are based, and play most of their tennis in South Australia.
