The event attracted players from all over Australia, with $5,000 worth of prize money up for the taking.<\/p>\n<p>The men\u2019s draw was won by number one seed <strong>Darren Polkinghorne<\/strong> after number four seed <strong>Lawrence Bataljin<\/strong> was forced to withdraw following his inclusion in the main draw event at the HKTC Red Centre AMT Gold in Alice Springs.<\/p>\n<p>The women\u2019s draw was headlined by number one seed <strong>Jessica Moore<\/strong> and number two seed, Adelaide\u2019s <strong>Nicole Collie<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The men\u2019s draw brought with it some surprises with number three seed, <strong>Scott Poudziunas<\/strong> defeated in the round of 16 by Victorian, sixteenth seed <strong>David Bidmeade<\/strong> 6-7, 6-4, 6-2.<\/p>\n<p>Bidmeade backed up with a win over eighth seed <strong>Matthew Teivans<\/strong> in the quarter finals 2-6 6-3 6-2. In the other half of the draw, fifth seed <strong>Yuya Ito<\/strong> gave number one seed <strong>Ryan Agar<\/strong> a lucky break when he was forced to retire due to injury after leading 3-6 4-5. Number two seed <strong>Darren Polkinghorne<\/strong> claimed the Men\u2019s title not dropping a set in the tournament.<\/p>\n<p>The women\u2019s draw brought some great matches to Memorial Drive. Number four seed <strong>Chloe Hule<\/strong> enjoyed a run to the semi-final facing number one seed <strong>Jessica Moore<\/strong> taking the match to three sets which lasted three and a half hours. Number two seed <strong>Nicole Collie<\/strong> made her way to the final after winning a tough fought battle against twelfth seed <strong>Olivia Ley<\/strong> 7-5 7-5.
