This tournament will be held this weekend (13-14 September 2014) and is open to 9\/u (orange ball), 11\/u (green ball), 13\/u and 15\/u players. <strong>Entries will close tomorrow, Tuesday 9 September at 11.59pm<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst the tournaments do not hold Australian Ranking points, they add a crucial step in the tournament pathway for children looking to be involved in tournament play. MJDS tournaments have a strong focus on participation, with multiple playing opportunities for each child and the use of modified equipment.<\/p>\n<p>11\/u players will use 75% compression Hot Shots Green Balls, whilst 9\/u players will use the 50% compression Hot Shots Orange Balls and 7\/u players will use 25% compression Hot Shots Red Balls.<\/p>\n<p>Players are encouraged to visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/tournaments.tennis.com.au\/home.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Tennis Australia Tournaments website<\/a>\u00a0for online entry.<\/p>\n<h4>Upcoming events<\/h4>\n<p>2014 Henley South October MJDS &#8211; Tuesday 7 October 2014<br \/>\n2014 Peake Gardens October MJDS &#8211; Thursday 9 October 2014<br \/>\n2014 Millswood October MJDS &#8211; Sunday 19 October 2014<\/p>\n<h4>2014 Medibank Good Sport Awards<\/h4>\n<p>Generation Better and The Medibank Junior Development Series isn&#8217;t about winning or losing. It\u2019s about encouraging kids to get out there and have a go. Spectators are being encouraged to nominate children who show commitment and enthusiasm and display a positive attitude throughout the series for a 2014 Medibank Good Sport Award.<\/p>\n<p>Each month between May 1 and November 30 this year, one winner per state will be selected. The winners will receive: a tennis racquet, balls, bag and towel.
