Peake Gardens Riverside Medibank Junior Development Series – 18 July<\/h4>\n

The upcoming Peake Gardens Riverside July Medibank Junior Development Series Tournament (MJDS) will be the third held at the venue in the past year.<\/p>\n

The tournament will be held on Friday, 18 July and will be open for 15\/u, 13\/u, 11\/u and 9\/u age groups. Entries close on Sunday, 13 July.<\/p>\n

Also attending this tournament will be representatives from Medibank, as well as local tennis store – Racquets and Strings. Peake Gardens Riverside TC also be running a BBQ throughout the day.<\/p>\n

Little Masters MJDS<\/h4>\n

Also coming up on the MJDS calendar is the Little Masters MJDS. This tournament will be held over two weekends on 23-24 and\u00a030-31 of\u00a0August,\u00a0look out for more\u00a0details to follow in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n

While these tournaments do not hold Australian Ranking points, they add a crucial step in the tournament pathway for children looking to be involved in tournament play.\u00a0 MJDS tournaments have a strong focus on participation, with multiple playing opportunities for each child and the use of modified equipment.<\/p>\n

11\/u players will use 75% compression Hot Shots Green Balls, whilst 9\/u players will use the 50% compression Hot Shots Orange Balls.<\/p>\n

Players are encouraged to contact the relevant Tournament Director or visit Tennis Australia Tournaments<\/a> for online entry or the Tennis SA Tournaments<\/a> page for manual entry.<\/p>\n

2014 Medibank Good Sport Awards<\/h4>\n

Generation Better and The Medibank Junior Development Series isn\u2019t about winning or losing. It\u2019s about encouraging kids to get out there and have a go. Spectators are being encouraged to nominate children who show commitment and enthusiasm and display a positive attitude throughout the series for a 2014 Medibank Good Sport Award.<\/p>\n

Each month between May 1 and November 30 this year, one winner per state will be selected. The winners will receive: a tennis racquet, balls, bag and towel. More information about the Good Sport Awards and an electronic copy of the nomination form are available here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
