The Asia-Pacific Tennis League (ATL) will be played outside of Memorial Drive Tennis Centre for the first time since the inception of the competition in 2011 when the Tea Tree Gully Timberwolves<\/strong> host the second round of the ATL SA conference season.<\/p>\n

\u201cTea Tree Gully are excited to bring such a high level of tennis to the local area, it shows junior players the pathways available and energises the Club and Association\u201d said Tea Tree Gully head coach and Timberwolves Men\u2019s team manager Jason Todd.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Timberwolves men\u2019s team have a tough assignment against the Trinity Titans.<\/strong> The Titans, led by ATP touring players Colin Ebelthite<\/strong> and Darren Polkinghorne<\/strong> will be keen to build on their round one singles wins. The Timberwolves will be hoping their number one player Josh Crowe<\/strong> can lead his younger teammates in Tyson Devine<\/strong> and Jay laginestra<\/strong> to a strong performance in front of their home crowd.<\/p>\n

In the second men\u2019s match the Broadview Tigers<\/strong> play their opening match of the 2013 ATL season after having the round one bye when they take on the Glenlea Gators<\/strong>. The Gators will be led by ATP ranked player Jack Schipanski<\/strong> who is high on confidence after his round one win over Timber wolf Josh Crowe in three sets. The Tigers will be heavily reliant on National Academy player Kurtis Wilson<\/strong> getting them off to a strong start with fellow youngsters Jack Dawson<\/strong> and Lachlan Smith<\/strong> also needing to play at their best to challenge 2012 Men\u2019s Champions Glenlea.<\/p>\n

In the women\u2019s draw the Flagstaff Freighters<\/strong> take on The Drive<\/strong> in the match of the round. The Freighters add world number 238 Vikorija Rajicic<\/strong> to their team making them a daunting \u00a0proposition for any opponent. The Drive will be encouraged by the performance of Japanese import Asaka Hiura<\/strong> after her round one singles win and will expect number one player Alex Cannizzaro<\/strong> to provide strong opposition to either Jess Moore of Rajicic. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Tea Tree Gully Timberwolves<\/strong> women\u2019s team will be looking to capture their first win of the season in front of their supporters when they take on the Glenlea Gators<\/strong>. Timber wolf Chloe Hule<\/strong> lost a tight match in round one and will be looking to turn her form around when she takes on Gator Olivia Ley<\/strong> at number one single. The Timberwolves will also be hoping youngsters Jeanette Lin<\/strong> and Nicole Kraemer<\/strong> are too strong for fellow top juniors Madison Frahn<\/strong> and Mimi Ahern-Briggs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

To round out the second round of matches the Goodwood Saints<\/strong> play the Trinity Titans<\/strong>. The Saints started the season against the powerful Freighters line up and were very competitive winning two sets out of the four rubbers played. It will be another tough ask against the Titans who will be led by WTA ranked played Leah Daw<\/strong> and strong junior Amy Sneath<\/strong>. The Titans will expect to get their first win of the year although the Saints have proved they will not be a push over for any team despite having the youngest list in the ATL.<\/p>\n

Matches start from 6:30pm at the Tea Tree Gully Tennis Club, Banksia Park.<\/p>\n
