The 2013 Tennis SA Silver AMT was held from 19-22 September at Memorial Drive Tennis Centre, North Adelaide. \u00a0The event attracted players from all over Australia, with $5,000 worth of prize money up for the taking.<\/p>\n

The men\u2019s draw was lead by number two seed Todd Ley<\/strong> and number three seed Yuya Ito<\/strong>, after number one seed Darren Polkinghorne<\/strong> was forced to withdraw following his inclusion in the main draw event at the Cairns Tennis International.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s draw was headlined by number one seed Nicole Collie<\/strong> and number two seed, Adelaide National Academy student, Chloe Hule<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The men\u2019s draw brought with it some surprises with number four seed, Andrew Zelea<\/strong> defeated in the round of 16 by South Australian, Tyson Devine<\/strong> 5-7, 6-0, 6-4. Todd Ley<\/strong> was then defeated in the quarter finals by seventh seed David Bidmeade<\/strong> 6-3, 7-5, who backed it up with a win over Sam Longhurst<\/strong> in the semi final 6-3, 1-6, 6-2. In the other half of the draw, Yuya Ito swiftly made his way to the final losing just 14 games in four matches. Ito defeated Bidmeade to claim the men\u2019s title 6-1, 6-2.<\/p>\n

The women\u2019s draw also brought some upsets. Fifth seed Petra Hule<\/strong> made her way through to the final with a wins over Nicole Collie in the quarter final and number three seed Brooke Milner<\/strong> in the semi final. In the other half of the draw, number four seed Nicole Kraemer<\/strong> enjoyed a run to the semi final without dropping a set, as did Chloe Hule, who prevailed in the semi final 6-0, 6-3 to set up a final round clash against her younger sister Petra. \u00a0Chloe defeated Petra in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2 to claim the women\u2019s title.<\/p>\n

In the men\u2019s doubles final, Yuya Ito<\/strong> and Luke Smith<\/strong> defeated David Bidmeade<\/strong> and Luke Chigwidden <\/strong>6-0, 7-6, whilst in the women\u2019s doubles final Nicole Collie<\/strong> and Nicole Kraemer<\/strong> defeated Chloe and Petra Hule 6-2, 6-7, 10-4.<\/p>\n
