{"id":5525,"date":"2013-03-20T08:53:31","date_gmt":"2013-03-19T23:23:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=5525"},"modified":"2013-03-20T08:53:31","modified_gmt":"2013-03-19T23:23:31","slug":"in-the-media-little-future-hot-shots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2013\/03\/20\/in-the-media-little-future-hot-shots","title":{"rendered":"IN THE MEDIA: Little future \u2018hot shots\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WITH only three weeks left for the Tennis SA Hot Shots clinic, trainers have noticed big improvements in their little champions.<\/p>\n<p>Run by the Keith Tennis Club in conjunction with Tennis SA, volunteer coach Kristy Clark said children participating in the eight week clinic had shown great improvement.<\/p>\n<p>Reception to Year 2 players had gone from very little coordination to small rallies.<\/p>\n<p>The Year 3 to 7 players had learned how to score games and also produce rallies.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the clinic players get their own T-shirt and become members of Tennis SA.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow that we (Keith Tennis Club) have had a Tennis Club) have had a really good seasons hopefully children come back for a proper (modified) competition and obviously<\/p>\n<p>Hot Shots for the little kids next year,\u201d Mrs Clark said.<\/p>\n<p>There are now three weeks left for the clinics which began in early February to interested children and volunteer parents.<\/p>\n<p>Coordinator Jane Thompson said the class had gone really well.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve had support from Tennis SA\u2019s coaching and development officer Andrew Wilson who had come down for a few training sessions to run the Hot Shots program,\u201d Mrs Thompson said.<\/p>\n<p>Run each Saturday, children\u2019s classes up to Year 2 work on a rotation Year 2 work on a rotation format.<\/p>\n<p>Starting with a five minute warm up session, then on to activities.
