The 2012 Bruce Cup team travelled to \u00a0Perth with the team finishing second to New South Wales. The team competed in the weeklong format which pitted each state against one another in a round robin draw to determine the eventual champion.<\/p>\n<p>The South Australian team consisted of seven boys and seven girls with players playing singles, doubles and mixed doubles to determine the winner of the tie. The team members were D<strong>avid Abfalter, Madison Bishop, Vanessa Cozamanis, Oliver Douglas, Sebastian Flock, Jeanette Lin, Amber Marshall, Sam May, Dale Nixon, Stefan Norodom, Chloe Purkiss, Isabella Ryles, Tahlia Van der Eerden<\/strong>, and<strong> Sean van Rensburg<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Tennis SA sent Talent Development Coach <strong>Craig Mousley<\/strong> \u00a0as the coach of the Bruce Cup\u00a0 team to Perth with the team, giving the athletes a chance to play in Davis and Fed Cup conditions with the coach being allowed on the court if the match went to a 3<sup>rd<\/sup> set.<\/p>\n<p>South Australia\u2019s number one ranked 12\/u girl, <strong>Jeanette Lin<\/strong> thrived under the conditions of the Bruce Cup, stating \u201cthe opportunity to have a coach on the court to help in a pressure situation was really beneficial for my tennis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lin\u2019s results reflected this confidence by going undefeated in an event which involved Australia\u2019s best 12\/u players.<\/p>\n<p>National Academy Manager <strong>Rohan Fisher<\/strong> was also pleased by the performance stating \u2018the result from the Bruce Cup comes at a perfect time for our 12\/u athletes as the majority of them will use the match practise as preparation for the December Showdown in Melbourne later this year\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Currently National Academy Adelaide has the following athletes on tour:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bradley Mousley \u2013 National representative tour of Japan and Korea<\/li>\n<li>Thanasi Kokkinakis \u2013 Pro Tour event Bendigo<\/li>\n<li>Jack Schipanski \u2013 Pro Tour event Bendigo<\/li>\n<li>Lawrence Bataljin \u2013 Australian Money Tournament Tasmania<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2012 Bruce Cup team results<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":5915,"featured_media":5137,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[1],"tags":[24,7,25,26],"class_list":["post-5136","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news","tag-bradley-mousley","tag-jack-schipanski","tag-lawrence-bataljin","tag-thanasi-kokkinakis"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/5136","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/5915"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=5136"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/5136\/revisions"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/wp-json\/"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=5136"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=5136"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=5136"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
