MEN\u2019s<\/p>\n
Golden Grove Lions v The Drive<\/strong><\/p>\n Being \u2018Ebelthite-less\u2019 was no hinderance for The Drive who were methodical in dispatching the Lions six rubbers to love.<\/p>\n The number one singles match was the most competitive, with Lion Nathan Eshmade going down to an in form looking Paul Kramberger 4-2 4-2.<\/p>\n The Drive\u2019s young teen Yuya Ito will be a tricky opponent in the lower singles, showing consistency beyond his years. He then backed up in the doubles, pairing with Luke Smith for a comfortable win.<\/p>\n This strong start, and the addition of Colin Ebelthite, will make The Drive a contender for a finals berth.<\/p>\n The Drive won 6-12-49 to 0-1-20<\/p>\n Trinity Titans v Glenlea<\/strong><\/p>\n In the fixture of the night, Trinity triumphed by a mere 3 games, taking advantage of an under strength Glenlea who were without Luke Saville and Thanasi Kokkinakis.<\/p>\n Glenlea were still able to field a talented squad, with Todd Ley winning the number one singles in three sets against Li Tu.<\/p>\n The ever reliable David To and Adam Alessandrini took out their singles against Schipanski and wild card player Lachlan Ferguson respectively.<\/p>\n Trinity would be delighted for the win, and for facing a vulnerable Glenlea who can be counted on to bounce back strongly.<\/p>\n Trinity Titans won 3-7-43 to 3-7-40 \u00a0<\/p>\n Broadview Tigers v Gully Subways<\/strong><\/p>\n A vital early encounter between the evenly matched squads was taken out by the Tigers.<\/p>\n Matt Langley\u2019s 4-1 4-1 number one singles win over Josh Crowe was just the start Broadview were after, and although Jay Laginestra claimed a singles scalp for Gully, Corey DeCandia and the evergreen Martin Richards tipped the scale in their favour going into the doubles.<\/p>\n The doubles were split and Broadview surprise result of the night, the young squad of Saints had a relatively comfortable win over The Drive.<\/p>\n Leah Daw got a winning start in the singles accounting for Alex Cannizzaro 4-1 4-2 and ended up leading three rubbers to one after the singles component.<\/p>\n The Saints got their match ups right in the doubles taking out both, and the strong result placed Goodwood in the top two.<\/p>\n Goodwood Saints won 5-11-44 to 1-2-24<\/p>\n Somerton Park Sharks v Gully Subways<\/strong><\/p>\n On paper, a very even balance of talent between the teams which made victory vital and it was the Gully Subways who triumphed despite the best endeavours of Somerton.<\/p>\n Nicole Collie got Gully off to the ideal start downing Elyse Edwards 4-1 4-3, and with Nicole Kraemer and Claudia May recording single\u2019s wins, a 3-1 lead going into doubles proved insurmountable for the Sharks.<\/p>\n Gully Subways won 4-8-41 to 2-5-37<\/p>\n Golden Grove Lions v Flagstaff Freighters<\/strong><\/p>\n Flagstaff wasted no time in perching themselves atop the ladder with a comprehensive win over Golden Grove.<\/p>\n Unbackable favourites going into the SA-Conference, round one was possibly the only time to catch Flagstaff off-guard, but a single\u2019s roster reading Bobusic, Wlodarczak, Rischbieth and Lukaszewicz was far too good to be caught napping.<\/p>\n Wild card
