{"id":4545,"date":"2012-07-10T14:50:58","date_gmt":"2012-07-10T05:20:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=4545"},"modified":"2012-07-10T14:50:58","modified_gmt":"2012-07-10T05:20:58","slug":"79th-glen-iris-underage-championship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2012\/07\/10\/79th-glen-iris-underage-championship","title":{"rendered":"79th Glen Iris Underage Championship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>South Australian juniors flew the flag high in Melbourne at the 79th Glen Iris Underage Championship last week.<\/p>\n<p>A 12\/under tour was undertaken with nine South Australian athletes competing in the Gold OJT.<\/p>\n<p><strong>South Australian Jeanette Lin<\/strong> won the 12\/U singles title in comfortable fashion 6\/3, 6\/0 against <strong>Victorian Jessica Zaviacic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Athlete Development Manager <strong>Rohan Fisher<\/strong> said \u201cJeanette improved with every match throughout the week.\u00a0 Jeanette\u2019s attitude was an important facet to the week and she played the semi-final and final in a real positive manner\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Jeanette then made it a double, winning the doubles with fellow South Australia<strong> Selina Turulja<\/strong>. <strong>Indi-Arna Morris<\/strong> finished 4th in the singles, Selina Turulja finished 5th and <strong>Tahlia Van Der Eerden<\/strong> finished 6th.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Glen Iris Tournament is a great yard stick for our girls\u201d Fisher said and he was excited with the progression being made by these girls in the past 12 months.<\/p>\n<p>South Australian boys Joonky Nah &amp; Sean Van Rensburg continued the winning success on the final day by taking out the 12\/U doubles title. Nah &amp; Van Rensburg defeated Ted Williams and Cooper Wyett 6\/2, 6\/4 in the final.
