A combined AMT and OJT with entries over 300 strong, it is sure to be a wonderful tennis event at Memorial Drive.

The July school holidays is shaping up as a massive period for OJT players with tournaments at Gawler, Peake Gardens, Tea Tree Gully and Seaside respectively. Entries for all four are now open and can be accessed through the Tennis SA website.

In an effort to help better gauge the running of our tournaments, effective from this month, an online survey will be sent to all participants of each individual tournament. These surveys will cover all aspects including officiating, venue presentation, communications and regulations. The results of the surveys will serve to provide specific and direct feedback to tournament operators and Tennis SA in order to assist continual growth and improvement.

The process for establishing the tournament calendar for 2013 will commence shortly. The number of Australian Ranking Tournaments will stabilise after this year’s TA mandated reduction and early positive feedback from the tournament calendar (generally being based around the school holiday calendar and avoiding clashes where possible with local competitions), suggest we are striking a good balance that will be maintained.

The Medibank Junior Development Series (MJDS) is the umbrella under which non-AR junior tournaments sit and primarily is for the ‘entry-level’ or introductory type tournaments. Traditionally in SA there have not been a focus on these tournaments, but in establishing the 2013 calendar we will be looking at how these may fit in well as a viable option for centres and clubs with increased levels of promotional support from Tennis SA – further details to come shortly.

[1

post-4381","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-news
["GET
