Plenty of stellar matches taking place, with local heroes and international rising stars getting closer to becoming Champion.<\/p>\n<p>Both defending singles champions, Aussies <strong>Rinky Hijikata<\/strong> and <strong>Maddison Inglis<\/strong>, have cruised through to the quarterfinals after they were victorious in straight sets.<\/p>\n<p><strong>James McCabe<\/strong> got through in two, knocking out fellow Aussie Marc Polmans in a bid to inch closer to the finals. Qualifier <strong>Carl Emil Overbeck<\/strong> (DEN) caused an upset following his victory over No.5 seed Jason Kubler (AUS).<\/p>\n<p>The first men\u2019s doubles match of the day saw Aussie duo <strong>Calum Puttergill<\/strong> and <strong>Dane Sweeny<\/strong> get it done in three sets. Japanese pairing <strong>Taisei Ichikawa<\/strong> <strong>\/ Shinji Hazawa <\/strong>have also advanced to the next round, accompanied by Aussie duo <strong>Jake Delaney<\/strong> and Adelaide\u2019s own <strong>Li Tu<\/strong>. The final doubles match-up of the day saw <strong>Anirudh Chandrasekar \/ Reese Stalder <\/strong>take the win in less than an hour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Talia Gibson<\/strong> (AUS) progressed through to the quarterfinals following her 6-1 6-2 victory in just over an hour. Joining her are fellow Australians <strong>Taylah Preston<\/strong>, <strong>Elena Micic <\/strong>and <strong>Emerson Jones <\/strong>who also came out on top today.<\/p>\n<p>China\u2019s <strong>Sijia Wei <\/strong>and<strong> Fangran Tian<\/strong> both moved through to the next round, alongside Ukraine\u2019s <strong>Yuliia Starodubtseva<\/strong> following her 6-1 6-3 win.<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s doubles, Aussie duo <strong>Maddison Inglis<\/strong> and <strong>Talia Gibson<\/strong> advanced through following a 6-4 6-2 win, alongside another Australian pairing consisting of <strong>Elena Micic<\/strong> and Adelaide\u2019s own <strong>Petra Hule<\/strong>. Korean pair <strong>Eunhye Lee<\/strong> \/ <strong>Dayeon Back <\/strong>surpassed the Aussies in 43 minutes winning 6-0 6-1.
