Greenacres<\/strong>\u00a0(City\/Hills) and Strathalbyn<\/strong> (Rural) Tennis Clubs have been named South Australia\u2019s Most Outstanding Tennis Clubs<\/strong> for 2025, highlighting their incredible commitment to community, participation, and club culture. Dedicated volunteers Klinton Devenish<\/strong> (City\/Hills) and Kathleen Slade<\/strong> (Rural) were honoured with Volunteer Achievement Awards<\/strong> for their passion and service to the sport.<\/p>\n

The awards, among many others, were presented at the 2025 Tennis SA Awards Night,<\/strong> held at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Saturday 3 May.
\n\u201cTennis is thriving across South Australia, and our annual Awards Night is the perfect opportunity to recognise the remarkable individuals and clubs driving this success,\u201d Tennis SA CEO Debbie Sterrey<\/strong> said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s always inspiring to see our community come together to celebrate the achievements of the past year. From grassroots to high performance, everyone plays a part in shaping the future of our sport.\u201d<\/p>\n

Finalists in the City\/Hills category included Seacliff Tennis Club<\/strong> and Sturt Lawn Tennis Club<\/strong>, while Mount Gambier Tennis Club<\/strong> and Port Lincoln Tennis Club<\/strong>\u00a0were in contention for the Rural accolade.<\/p>\n

Professional athletes Li Tu<\/strong> and Petra Hule<\/strong> were awarded South Australia\u2019s highest individual honours \u2013 the Burr<\/strong> and Boyce Medals<\/strong> \u2013 with both players earning back-to-back wins for their continued excellence on and off the court.
\nSarah Mildren<\/strong> took home the Gwen Thiele Memorial Trophy<\/strong> for the most outstanding 18-and-under female, and Hugh Winter<\/strong> won the Don Turnbull Memorial Trophy<\/strong> for the most outstanding 18-and-under male \u2013 his second consecutive win.<\/p>\n

In the Most Outstanding Athlete with a Disability<\/strong> category, Ethan Cook<\/strong> and Andriana Petrakis<\/strong> were recognised as joint winners, highlighting their outstanding achievements and inspirational journeys.<\/p>\n

Roger Davey<\/strong> was named Most Outstanding 30+ Tennis Senior<\/strong>, celebrating his exceptional commitment and performance on the court.<\/p>\n

Coaching excellence was on full display, with Todd Langman<\/strong> winning Most Outstanding Coach \u2013 Development<\/strong>, Adam Fonfe<\/strong> taking out Most Outstanding Coach \u2013 Club<\/strong>, and Sam Clayson<\/strong> once again awarded Most Outstanding Coach \u2013 Rural<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Rural City of Murray Bridge<\/strong> was recognised as the Most Outstanding Council or Government Department<\/strong> for its strong partnership with the tennis community.<\/p>\n
