The morning kicked off with a win from No.1 seed Rinky Hijikata<\/strong> (Nsw) after he fought back to claim victory in just under 3 hours over No.7 seed Omar Jasika<\/strong> (Vic), 5-7 7-6[4] 6-3.<\/p>\n It was a day of upsets as Aussie No.8 seed Marc Polmans<\/strong> (Vic) defeated No.3 seed Shintaro Mochizuki<\/strong> in a three-set battle 2-6 6-4 6-4, securing his spot in the semifinals. In similar events, Japan’s Yuta Shimizu<\/strong> knocked out No.6 seed and South Aussie Li<\/strong> Tu<\/strong>, while Masamichi Imamura<\/strong> (JPN) claimed victory over No.4 seed Tristain Schoolkate<\/strong> (WA).<\/p>\n In the women’s singles, Aussies dominated with the top three seeds hailing from Western Australia, Talia Gibson<\/strong> (No.1 seed), Taylah Preston<\/strong> (No.2 seed), and Maddison Inglis<\/strong> (No.3 seed) all making it through to the semifinals.
