South Australia\u2019s own No.6 seed <strong>Li Tu<\/strong> delighted the home crowd with a strong 6-1 6-3 win over <strong>Saba Purtseladze<\/strong> (GEO), while fellow Aussies <strong>Philip Sekulic<\/strong> (Qld) and No.8 seed <strong>Philip Sekulic<\/strong> (Qld) also coming out on top.<\/p>\n<p>Lucky loser <strong>Thomas Fancutt<\/strong> (Qld) battled past fellow Aussie <strong>Edward Winter<\/strong> (SA) 7-5 7-6[2], while <strong>Christian Langmo<\/strong> (USA) was victorious over Australia\u2019s <strong>Pavle Marinkov<\/strong> (NSW) in a three-set thriller, 6-3 4-6 6-3. Japan\u2019s <strong>Shintaro Imai<\/strong> and <strong>Masamichi Imamura<\/strong> both secured straight-set wins seeing them advance to the next round.<\/p>\n<p>On the women\u2019s side, Australia\u2019s top performers continued to shine. No.1 seed <strong>Talia Gibson<\/strong> (WA) staged an impressive comeback to beat Japan&#8217;s <strong>Yuki Naito<\/strong> 6-7[4] 6-3 6-4. <strong>Taylah Preston<\/strong> (WA), <strong>Destanee Aiava<\/strong> (Vic), A<strong>lexandra Bozovic<\/strong> (NSW), <strong>Gabriella Da Silva Fick<\/strong> (NSW), and wild card <strong>Belle Thompson<\/strong> (Vic) also secured victories, ensuring a strong Aussie presence as the tournament progresses.
