{"id":3047,"date":"2011-08-16T09:39:23","date_gmt":"2011-08-16T00:09:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/?p=3047"},"modified":"2011-08-16T09:39:23","modified_gmt":"2011-08-16T00:09:23","slug":"ntl-registrations-open","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2011\/08\/16\/ntl-registrations-open","title":{"rendered":"New league locks in Wimbledon Champ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/files\/2012\/08\/Picture-006-410x273.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"410\" height=\"273\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Junior Wimbledon Champion Luke Saville and international Colin Edbelthite have registered for the new National Tennis League (NTL) to be launched in Adelaide in November.<\/p>\n<p>The two are expected to the hottest property up for grabs when SA teams start recruiting for the inaugural competition.<\/p>\n<p>The NTL\u2019s Adelaide conference will feature six men and women\u2019s teams to do battle over five regular season matches from November to December.<\/p>\n<p>The final will be held on December 22 and finalised will play the best teams from Victoria and Western Australia at Melbourne Park on January 25-26.<\/p>\n<p>Tennis SA held a briefing session with clubs last week as player registrations opened and Saville and Ebelthite were among the first to commit.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s all go and people are pretty excited,\u201d Tennis SA chief executive Alistair MacDonald said. \u201cLuke Saville has registered but I\u2019m not sure which team he\u2019s going to play for. There are a few who would want him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>MacDonald said Trinity Gardens, Somerton Park and Rostrevor had indicated they were likely to enter a team in the league\u2019s debut season.<\/p>\n<p>Most matches will be played under lights on Thursday. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Registrations are now open to enter into the pool of players from which participating <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/news\/2011\/08\/08\/2011-national-league-pilot-registrations-open\" target=\"_blank\">National Tennis League<\/a> clubs can select from.\u00a0 The player registration period <\/strong><strong>closes 5.00pm on Monday August 22<sup>nd<\/sup><\/strong><strong> and can be only accessed via the <a href=\"http:\/\/regonline.activeglobal.com\/Register\/Checkin.aspx?EventID=991289\" target=\"_blank\">online registration portal.<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Full details are available in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/files\/2011\/07\/2011-NTL-Pilot.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">NTL prospectus.<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 See below for an overview of key dates.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2011 National Tennis League \u2013 Key Information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>All players are advised that the registration period to nominate into the pool for the 2011 National Tennis League (NTL) closes <strong>Monday August 22<sup>nd<\/sup><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The player\u2019s pool has been established in order to give all players the opportunity to register their interest in participating in the NTL, regardless of which teams or clubs they are previously or currently aligned with. \u00a0<\/li>\n<li>The teams that nominate to participate in the NTL may only nominate players from this pool. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">If you are not registered in this pool by Monday August 22<sup>nd<\/sup>, you will be ineligible for selection.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Registration is free and can be completed online only. <a href=\"http:\/\/regonline.activeglobal.com\/Register\/Checkin.aspx?EventID=991289\">CLICK HERE<\/a> to be directed to the registration portal.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NTL Key Points:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6 men\u2019s and 6 women\u2019s teams selected from local clubs who submit Expression of Interests.<\/li>\n<li>5 regular season matches and a 1 week final.<\/li>\n<li>All regular season rounds played at Millswood complex.<\/li>\n<li>SA Final played at Memorial Drive.<\/li>\n<li>National Playoff, involving top 2 teams from each state, played at Melbourne Park during 2012 Australian Open.<\/li>\n<li>Player payments for each round of the NTL paid directly to players.<\/li>\n<li>Prize money for the winner and runner-up clubs.<\/li>\n<li>Full details are available in the NTL Prospectus. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tennis.com.au\/sa\/files\/2011\/07\/2011-NTL-Pilot.pdf\">CLICK HERE<\/a> to download a copy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Key Dates: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monday 22<sup>nd<\/sup> of August:\u00a0NTL-SA Player registrations close &amp;
